The following provisions must be respected:
- do not abandon the load in a non-vertical position;
- do not swing/throw the load hung to another operator;
- do not move the load by pulling the balancer cable;
- do not hang loads that are not between the upper and lower limits of the admitted load-bearing capacity;
- do not hang more than one tool on the balancer.
The only risk linked to the use of the balancer consists in any uncontrolled rewinding of the
cable. This very dangerous event can be avoided by adhering to the following instructions:
- if in doubt regarding the correct functionality of the balancer, BEFORE any control, support the tool hung to prevent it falling and
DISCHARGE THE SPRING COMPLETELY;
If the spring is to be discharged completely for whatever reason, stop the discharge manoeuvre
as soon as the spring is effectively completely discharged (proceeding beyond this point will
damage the spring, which must then be replaced).
- if, for any reason, the cable is not rewound by the balancer, DO NOT intervene and call the after-sales assistance immediately;
- never release the load if the cable is not completely wound in the drum;
- if the balancer cable is unwound with no load applied to it, DO NOT intervene of your own initiative but contact the after-sales
assistance service at once.

To allow the balancer to balance heavier loads within the load capacity accepted, use the specific key to turn screw (44) (Fig.5)
in the direction indicated by the "+" symbol. For lighter loads, turn screw (44) (Fig.5) in the direction indicated by the "-" symbol.
When the load has been adjusted, check that the entire length of the cable can run freely: the movement must not be limited by the
complete winding of the spring. Check the stroke several times at different speeds.
NOTE: a reduction in the balancer's capacity to support the load hung, can mean that the drum spring is breaking. DO NOT MODIFY
BALANCER ADJUSTMENT TO MAKE IT HOLD UP THE LOAD IN ALL CASES BUT CONTACT SKILLED STAFF IN CHARGE OF
MAINTENANCE AT ONCE.

Drum spring breakage
The balancer is fitted with a safety device that trips if the drum spring should break; it blocks operation, preventing the load hung
from falling.
If the hanging tool cannot be lifted or lowered through ordinary strain,
DO NOT INTERVENE BUT CONTACT THE AFTER-SALES ASSISTANCE SERVICE.
NOTE: the balancer stops even if the drum spring is fully discharged: in this condition the head of the load screw (44) (Fig.5) protrudes
by approximately 4 mm outside the cap. To restore operating conditions, load the spring as outlined in the "Balancer adjustment"
paragraph. As soon as the head of the load screw (44) (Fig.5) returns into the cap, use an Allen wrench on the cam (8) (Fig.5),
turning it anti-clockwise until it meets resistance (approx. 1/2 turn).
ATTENTION: if the cable should project from the balancer cap, it will be rewound immediately;
If the balancer does not release
DO NOT INTERVENE BUT CONTACT THE AFTER-SALES ASSISTANCE SERVICE.
Centrifugal speed limiter
The balancer is fitted with a centrifugal safety system that locks the drum if the speed exceeds the danger limit (accidental unhooking
of the load, cable breakage, etc.).
If the centrifugal safety system trips, discharge the drum spring IMMEDIATELY and completely, and have the balancer inspected by
an authorised after-sales service centre.
Manual lock
The balancer is fitted with a manual-locking system (Fig.4): turn knob (1) to position (H) to block drum rotation. Turn knob (1) to
position (G) for routine work conditions.
NOTE: for safety reasons, the shape of the shutter that blocks the drum does not allow the shutter to be removed unless it is perfectly
coaxial with the matching hole in the drum: to release the drum, move the load slightly upwards and downwards until you find the
correct position to allow its release.
ATTENTION: use the locking system ONLY with load hanging;
ATTENTION: if the balancer cable is not fully wound and no load is hanging, DO NOT intervene
and contact the after-sales assistance centre immediately.
(Option 'B': control from below (Fig.2)
Lower the side of the handle with the RED sticker to lock the drum; lower the side of the handle with the GREEN sticker to release it).
