Charging the rechargeable battery
On delivery, the integrated battery is empty and it must be charged first.
Please note:
If the rechargeable battery is low, the mini PIR camera cannot be
turned on (or it switches off again immediately).
With a completely empty battery, the charging procedure lasts ap-
proximately 5 hours.
To charge the battery, switch off the mini PIR camera first. Connect the
mini USB connector (4) e.g. to a free USB port on a computer or USB
hub using the USB cable enclosed. You can also use a power adapter
with USB socket.
When the mini PIR camera is connected to a USB port of a computer or
USB hub for charging, the red as well as the blue status LED (11) is lit.
Once charging is complete, the red LED goes out and the blue LED con-
tinues to be lit.
When the mini PIR camera is connected to a USB power adapter for
charging, the red LED is lit and the blue LED flashes and then goes out.
Once charging is complete, the red LED goes out as well.
If you connect the mini PIR camera to a PC for recharging, the mi-
croSD card slot is recognised (as a conventional USB stick or mem-
ory card reader).
Inserting/removing the memory card
Video can be recorded, if a microSD/microSDHC memory card (max
32GByte) is inserted into the slot (6). Pay attention to the correct
orientation of the card and do not use any force.
• Insert the memory card into the slot, until it locks into place.
• To remove the memory card, press it a little into the slot using a finger-
nail so that the locking mechanism unlocks. Then, a spring pushes the
card slightly out of the slot, so the memory card can be removed easily.
Assembly
The mini PIR camera can be attached to e.g. a curtain or another thin
object using the clip (A).
The wall bracket (B) can be screwed onto a wall using the two openings.
Attach the mini PIR camera to the wall bracket (B) using the clip (A).
The mini PIR camera can be screwed or placed onto e.g. an even surface
using the holder (C); it can also be mounted using cable ties or similar.
A
The mini PIR camera can be hung e.g. at a hook using the eyelet (9) on
its rear.
Setting the time and date
The time and date are displayed automatically in the video recording.
The mini PIR camera does not have buttons or a display for the set-
tings, instead a short text file has to be saved to the root directory of the
microSD card.
When the mini PIR camera is switched on, this text file is read and the
time and the date are set. The text file is then deleted automatically.
B
C
Proceed as follows:
• Create a text file named "TAG.TXT" using a text editor.
• In the text file, there must be one line of text with the following infor-
mation (pay attention to the exact spelling):
2012-05-01 23:59:59
The format is YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS (YYYY = year, MM = month, DD
= day, HH = hour, MM = minute, SS = second);there is a space between
"DD" and "HH" .
• Save the text file to the root directory of the microSD card.
Make sure that you create a "normal" text file. It is best to use the
simple text editor in Windows ("Editor") and not a word processor
(e.g. Word, OpenOffice or similar).
• Insert the memory card into the slot in the mini PIR camera and turn it
on.
• The mini PIR camera reads the text file and sets its internal clock. The
text file is then deleted automatically, so that the same time is not set
again when you turn it on the next time.
Video recordings when the temperature in the detection
range changes
The mini PIR camera can start video recordings automatically, when the
PIR sensor detects a temperature change in the detection range.
Proceed as follows:
• Press the "Mode" button (7) briefly. The yellow LED (12) lights up; the
blue LED lights up for a few seconds and then goes out. Afterwards, it
takes about one minute until the PIR sensor is activated and can detect
temperature changes in the detection range.
• When the mini PIR camera detects a temperature change in the detec-
tion range, video recording is started. The recording is stopped as soon
as there is no longer a temperature difference. The max. recording du-
ration for each detection is up to 2 minutes. If the temperature change
inside the detection range continues, additional recordings are saved.
• Stop the video recording and switch the mini PIR camera off by briefly
pressing the "Mode" button (7). The yellow LED (12) goes out.
Starting/ending manual video recording
• If the yellow LED is on (video recording activated when temperature
changes in the detection range), briefly press the "Mode" button (7)
until the yellow LED (12) goes out.
• Switch the mini PIR camera on by pressing the "Power" button (3) for
about one second until the blue LED is lit.
• To start a video recording, briefly press the " / " button. The blue LED
lights up briefly and goes out; the video is being recorded (none of the
LEDs is on during recording).
• To stop the recording, press the " / " button again briefly. The record-
ing is saved and the blue LED is lit again.
• You can now start a new recording, or you switch off the mini PIR cam-
era by pressing the "Power" button (3) for about one second.
To save power, the mini PIR camera turns off automatically after
about 30 seconds, if no recording is in progress and no button is
pressed.
If the memory card is full, the recording will stop automatically.
Reading the memory card
After connecting the mini PIR camera to a USB port on your computer
via the enclosed USB cable, the memory card slot is recognised as a card
reader.
This means you do not need a separate card reader for the microSD
memory card, instead you can simply use the mini PIR camera.
Conventional card readers (especially for USB3.0), however, are
usually faster at reading the data. To save time with large memory
cards, it may be worthwhile to use a "normal" card reader to read
the memory card, rather than the mini PIR camera.
