• CAUTION: never place the terminals of the two battery clips (red-positive and black negative)
in contact with one another.
• CAUTION: never switch polarity. Always connect the output conductor with a red battery clip
(+) to the positive pole of the battery and the output conductor with a black battery clip (-) to
the vehicle's earth (ground).
• CAUTION: INVERTING POLARITY CAN CAUSE EXPLOSIONS, DAMAGE THE VEHICLE,
PRODUCT AND PEOPLE.
• Improper use of the Emergency Starter or tampering with the electronic circuit inside the appliance
void the warranty.
HOW TO CHARGE THE EMERGENCY STARTER
The Emergency Starter can be charged in two ways: via the charger (9) provided or by plugging the
Emergency starter directly into the 12V cigar-lighter socket via the cable for plugging into a cigar-
lighter (7).
CAUTION: charge the Emergency Starter for at least 48 hours immediately after purchase and each
time that it is used. If the Emergency Starter is not in use, recharge it at least once a month to
maintain the internal battery in perfect working order.
Charging the emergency starter using the 230VAC charger
1. Make sure that no appliance is connected to the Emergency Starter. Use the TEST button (3) to
check the charge level on the voltmeter (red, battery at 30% - yellow, battery at 60% - green, battery
at 100%) (2). To conduct a test correctly, keep the button pressed for at least ten seconds. If the
voltmeter gauge does not reach green, charge the battery of the Emergency Starter.
2. Insert the plug (8) of the 230V charger (9) into the charging socket (4) located on the front or on the
rear of the Emergency Starter.
3. Insert the charger (9) into the socket of the 230V domestic supply.
4. If the Emergency Starter is not in use, recharge it at least once a month for 48 hours to maintain
the internal battery in perfect working order. The battery charger of the Emergency Starter is
automatic, so it can remain connected to the Emergency Starter permanently when it is not in use.
CAUTION: Use only the charger provided.
CAUTION: if the battery inside the Emergency Starter does not charge, check the fuse inside the plug
of the charger (8) and change it if necessary.
Charging the Emergency Starter by plugging into the 12VDC cigar-lighter socket
CAUTION For the 12V-24V models, position the 12V/OFF/24V switch in the 12V position
CAUTION: this charging method is not automatic, so the charge level of the battery of the Emergency
Starter must be checked at least once an hour.
1. Plug one end of the cable with a plug for a cigar-lighter socket (7) provided into the 12V cigar-
lighter socket (4) of the Emergency Starter.
2. Switch on the vehicle and then plug the other end of the cable with a plug for a cigar-lighter socket
(7) into the vehicle's 12VDC cigar-lighter socket.
3. Check the charge level of the battery of the Emergency Starter at least once an hour.
4. The battery takes about 4 to 5 hours to recharge.
CAUTION: always remove the Emergency Starter from the cigar-lighter socket if the vehicle's engine
is not running.
