Basic use
•
Always let the device heat up before using it. During the pre-heating pro-
cess, you can arrange the foods you would like to prepare.
•
If you suspect that food is "sticking" to the plates, add a drop of oil to the
plates and distribute it with a pastry brush.
1. Insert the desired plates in the device as described in the chapter "Inserting and
changing the plates".
2. Connect the device to a properly installed, easily accessible socket. Both indicator
lights will illuminate.
3. The device must pre-heat now. Always keep the device closed during this time. The
pre-heating process takes about 5 – 6 minutes and has ended when the green indi-
cator light turns off.
4. When the green indicator light turns off and the pre-heating process has ended, re-
lease the locking latch and open the device.
5. Put the food you want to prepare on the plates.
6. When using the device as tabletop grill you can leave it open. Otherwise close the
device and lock it with the locking latch so that it stays closed. Please note that the
green indicator light may alternately turn off and back on during operation. If the
green indicator light illuminates, this indicates that the device is reheating to maintain
a constant temperature.
7. After a couple of minutes open the device to check whether the food has already
been done to perfection.
8. When the food is done, use wooden or plastic kitchen utensils to remove it to prevent
damage to the non-stick coating.
9. If you do not plan to prepare any other foods, pull the mains plug out of the socket and
let the device cool off completely before you remove and clean the plates and store
them together with the device.
Use as sandwich maker
You can use the sandwich plates to prepare sandwiches with delicious toppings. Let your
imagination run wild when it comes to toppings: from ham and cheese or pizza sauce
and mozzarella up to and including fruit toppings – anything is possible.
You can prepare two sandwiches at the same time.
1. Prepare your sandwiches during the pre-heating process:
•
Place a topping of your choice on the bottom half. Place the topping in the middle
of the slice of toast. Make sure not to add too much of the topping to the slice
of toast as the device will press the slices of toast together and cut them in half.
Otherwise the topping will leak down the sides of the sandwich.
•
To enhance the fl avour, coat the outside of the slices of toast with a small amount
of butter or margarine. Sandwich toasts can of course also be prepared without
butter – whatever you prefer.
•
If you are preparing "sweet" sandwiches, e. g. with fruit toppings, you can coat the
outside of the toast slices with sugar for an extra crispy result.
2. When the device is heated up insert the topped slice of toast in the bottom half of
the device with the side coated with butter or margarine facing down and place the
second slice of toast so that it covers (with the side coated with butter or margarine
facing up) the fi rst slice of toast.
