7 Protective equipotential bonding/
Grounding
NOTE
Before putting the system into operation, the pro-
duct assembly has to be grounded via a protective
bonding conductor in accordance with valid stan-
dards and country-specific regulations by a quali-
fied electrician. All metallic parts of the product
assembly have to be connected to the equipoten-
tial bonding bar of the building. The necessary
equipotential bonding cable made of copper must
have a cross section of at least 6mm². The stan-
dard DIN VDE 0100-540 is to be observed.
DANGER
Danger to life from electric current
There is danger to life if a live part is touched
– Disconnect all poles of the power supply and
secure the station against switching on again.
– Check that no voltage is present.
– The connection must only be carried out by a
qualified electrician.
If no cabinet is used, use the grounding point (A) of
the base plate for equipotential bonding.

Appropriate accessories for connection to the base
plate is included in the Oventrop delivery programme
(OV item number 1349983).
8 Operation
8.1 Initial operation
The system must be flushed thoroughly before
initial operation with due consideration of the
permissible operating pressures.
NOTICE
The "Regudis W" dwelling stations are leak tested
at works.
Before initial operation, tightness has to be
checked by submitting the complete system to a
pressure test.
Damage to property caused by pressure
impacts
Sudden pressure impacts when opening the ball
valves may lead to damage to property
For this reason:
– Always open ball valve slowly
– Open ball valve of the cold water supply first
(flow direction)
Moreover, the system has to be flushed
thoroughly with due consideration of the
permissible operating pressures.
When the potable water circuit is closed, the
permissible working pressure can be exceeded
All ball valves must be in the open position during
operation
NOTICE
The operating instructions of the pump
manufacturer must be observed

Illustr. 8.1 Installation position of strainers
The following points must be observed during initial
operation:
– Clean strainer in the supply pipe (11). For this purpose,
flush out the dirt via the draining valve or unscrew the
draining valve and clean it under running water.
– Clean strainer in the return of the heating circuit (10).
For this purpose, flush out the dirt via the draining
valve or unscrew the draining valve and clean it under
running water.
