Introduction
Thank you for purchasing this Audio-Technica product.
Before using the product, read through this user manual to ensure that you will use the product correctly.
Transformer cautions
Do not use a tester on the product's input/output terminals. The
transformer core may become magnetized by the weak current
from the tester, resulting in performance deterioration.
Do not place magnets or any other metals near the terminals.
Safety precautions
Although this product was designed to be used safely, failing to use it correctly may result in an accident.
To ensure safety, observe all warnings and cautions while using the product.
• Disconnect the product from a device if the product begins to
malfunction, producing smoke, odor, heat, unwanted noise or
showing other signs of damage. In such a case, contact your
local Audio-Technica dealer.
• Do not place the included plastic bags near small children or
open flames to avoid injury or fire.
• Do not place the product on an unstable surface to avoid
injury or malfunction due to falling or the like.
• Do not store the product in direct sunlight, near heating
devices, or in hot, humid, or dusty places to avoid malfunction
or other problems.
• Do not disassemble, modify or attempt to repair the product to
avoid malfunction or other problems.
Notes on use
• Be sure to also read the connected device's user manual
before use.
• Securely insert the plug of the cable being connected, making
sure it is plugged all the way in.
• Using the product near a cordless phone, mobile phone, or
other transmitter may result in noise being heard. Keep the
product as far away from such devices.
• When installing the product, hold it firmly with both hands.
Cable cautions
Use a balanced transmission cable for the input side of the
product. The product's XLR/RCA input/output terminals are
specified for balanced transmission with a hot/cold configuration
and separate ground. Using an unbalanced cable for the input
side may result in noise.
• Do not subject the product to strong impact to avoid
malfunction or other problems.
• Do not subject the product to water to avoid malfunction or
other problems.
• Do not place the cable in a location where it can be caught by
feet to avoid malfunction or accidents.
• Do not place the product near fire to avoid deformation or
malfunction.
• Do not use benzine, paint thinners, contact cleaners and
rejuvenators, or similar products to avoid deformation or
malfunction.
Cleaning
• If the product becomes dirty or dusty, turn off any connected
devices, and wipe the product with a soft, dry cloth.
