2 General Information
2.1 Function and Application
The BRITA PURITY 450 Steam, PURITY 600 Steam and PURITY 1200 Steam water fi lter
systems (hereinafter called PURITY Steam) optimise tap water specially for combi ovens
and conventional ovens by reducing the carbonate hardness and enhancing aromas and
fl avours.
Using the fl ow method, calcium and magnesium ions as well as heavy metal ions like lead
and copper are selectively removed from the fi ltered drinking water via an ion exchanger.
Furthermore, the fi lter material reduces cloudiness and organic impurities, as well as con-
tents which affect taste and odour (e.g. chlorine residues) in the fi ltrate and bypass water.
The bypass setting, which is specially designed for combi ovens and conventional ovens,
matches the reduction in the carbonate hardness to the local water hardness in order to
achieve an optimum fi ltrate quality. The increased fl ow and the reduced pressure loss
enable the smooth operation of the combi oven.
2.2 Guarantee Provisions
The PURITY Steam fi lter systems are subject to a statutory guarantee of 2 years. A guar-
antee claim may be asserted only if all instructions in this handbook are followed and
observed.
2.3 Storage/Transport
Adhere to the ambient conditions in the Technical Data (Chapter 10) for storage and
transport.
The handbook should be seen as part of the product and kept for the whole service life of
the fi lter system and passed on to subsequent owners.
