8. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The pump must be connected to a socket or to a control device fitted at such height that they are not immersed in water.
The connection must be made by competent personnel according to the diagram shown at the end of this manual.
WARNING!
The entire electrical system must be earthed. This applies to the pump and any control equipment.
WARNING!
The electrical installation must be carried out in compliance with the applicable regulations in force.
Check that the indications on the motor data plate match the mains voltage and frequency, the device and control mode.
NB! The 400V pump can be used with a voltage between 380 and 415 volts.
WARNING!
The pump must always be lifted by the special handle and not using the power cable or the delivery pipe.
8.1 POWER SUPPLY CABLE AND CONNECTION TO THE NETWORK
WARNING!
Immediately replace a damaged cable.
Follow the diagrams at the end of the manual to connect the pump to the mains.
8.2 CONNECTING THE WIRES FROM THE MOTOR TO THE POWER CABLE
If the pump is not fitted with a cable, the connection must be made as indicated on the wiring diagrams at the end of this manual.
To be able to make a correct connection, it is essential to know the number of wires, the control device and control module (see data plate).
NOTICE!
For safety reasons the ground wire of the pump must be longer than the other wires. If the cable were unplugged, the grounding wire must be the
last to come off its connection. This applies to both ends of the cable.
The network must be equipped with delay fuses as follows:
Pump
K 040 - 075
K 120 - 150
K 220
K 420
K 560- 660
K 920
9. COMMISSIONING
Before starting up, check the rotation direction.
When starting, the pump starts counter-clockwise from the top.
If the sense of rotation is incorrect, reverse the two phases.
See "Electrical connection".
WARNING! The kickback on starting up can be very strong. When checking the
sense of rotation of the pump, do not hold it by the handle. Make sure the pump is
resting steadily and cannot rotate.
WARNING! The change in the rotation direction on the free connector without a phase inverter can
only be performed by specialized personnel.
WARNING! If the motor protection has tripped, the pump stops and restarts automatically as
soon as it has cooled down.
