Stretching
With the stretching pattern, the joints are gently stretched in the set direction.
Options are:
1. Stretching in retroversion
2. Stretching in abduction
3. Stretching in internal rotation
4. Stretching in external rotation
The treatment is only performed in the selected direction of movement. The
other motors are automatically deactivated.
Starting in the middle position, the device first moves to the programmed maxi-
mum position in the direction opposite to the stretching direction and then to
the programmed maximum position in the stretching direction.
Subsequently, the device reverses 5° in the opposite direction and then moves
very slowly back again to the set maximum position in the stretching direction.
After that, it attempts to attain another –5°, moving even slower than before.
If a high resistance toward the additional 5° is sensed, the reverse-on-load func-
tion is automatically activated and the device moves in the opposite direction.
This stretching cycle is repeated for the set number of cycles (5 to 20 times).
Then, the device moves to the programmed maximum position in the direction
opposite to the stretching direction before it starts over performing a stretching
cycle in the direction of the selected stretching movement.
This sequence can be repeated as often as needed.
You can stop treatment with the STOP button; after the programmed therapy
duration, it will stop automatically.
Default setting: disabled
To program the stretching pattern, proceed as follows:
1. Program the range of motion as described in section 5.1. Please make sure
that the motors for the planes of motion not currently needed are in the
position in which the stretching movement in the selected plane of motion
(abduction, retroversion, internal rotation or external rotation) will occur.
Important!
Please remember that, when performing the stretching movements, the
motors not currently needed are automatically deactivated and remain in
the current position.
