Patient hazard –
Before therapy, a test run consist-
ing of several exercise cycles must be
completed without the patient. Then,
repeat the test run with the patient and
check that the movements do not cause
any pain.

5.1 General information on
programming the
ARTROMOT®-S4
The ARTROMOT®-S4 comes with a manual
control pendant with touch screen for con-
trol and input of the treatment values.
Three buttons on the control pendant pro-
vide additional functions:
• START button to start the session
• STOP button to stop the session
• MENU button to call up the program-
ming menu
Different motion patterns such as PNF,
Wave, or Isolated motion patterns can be
selected during operation.
All treatment parameters can be preconfig-
ured for each patient.
1. You activate the programming mode by
briefly pressing the MENU button on the
programming unit.
As an alternative, you can directly se-
lect the motion patterns on the display by
tapping the symbol.
2. The treatment parameters and functions
are allocated to different programming
levels. The status bar of the associated
symbol indicates the status (activated/
deactivated/current setting) of each
parameter.
Simply tap the appropriate parameter
symbol to select a parameter and view
the corresponding functions.
The currently displayed menu is indicated
in the header of the display on the right
side.
3. Simply tap the appropriate function
symbol to select a function. The selected
function will be enlarged on the display.
