Oil Checker
➤ Connect the low-pressure quick coupling (fig. 1 4, page 3) with the low-
pressure connection of the air conditioner.

Checking the refrigerant oil/refrigerant
➤ Start the vehicle engine.
➤ Switch the air condition on for at least 5 minutes and then keep it on.
➤ Hold the sight glass (fig. 2 3, page 3) vertical (blue at the top).
A
NOTICE!
Only gaseous refrigerant may be fed to the compressor through
the low-pressure side.
If liquid refrigerant gets into the compressor, the compressor may
be damaged.
Make sure that the level of the refrigerant oil in the sight glass
is never too high.
➤ Open and close the high-pressure shut-off valve (red) (fig. 2 5, page 3)
slowly until the desired liquid level is achieved.
➤ Open and close the low-pressure shut-off valve (blue) (fig. 2 1, page 3)
slowly until the desired liquid level is achieved.
The refrigerant oil is drawn into the sight glass. The refrigerant and compres-
sor oil are separated in the process. If bubbles form, close the low-pressure
shut-off valve (blue) far enough until the bubbling stops.
➤ Allow the sight glass to be filled no more than half.
➤ Close both control elements.
➤ Evaluate the quality of the oil using the color on the pH indicator as shown
in the table below:
