Safety during Commissioning, Operation, Maintenance and Inspection

During commissioning, operation, mainte-
nance and inspection, the following risks
must be assumed:
Beware
The following safety instructions must be
read carefully before starting commissi-
oning and operation. If they are ignored,
minor and moderate injuries may occur.
Ensure staff have the necessary qualifica-
tions. Contact with greasy waste water.
Skin and eye injuries, risk of infection!
Personal protective equipment must be
worn, Chap. 2.3.
On contact with skin: Relevant skin
areas must be washed thoroughly with
soap then disinfected.
On contact with eyes: Rinse eyes.
If eyes continue to water, consult a
doctor

Owner's Responsibility

It is the responsibility of the owner to en-
sure the following points are respected:
The plant must only be used as intend-
ed and if in good operating condition,

Nothing must impede the correct func-
tioning of the safety devices.
Servicing timetables must be adhered
to and faults dealt with swiftly. Owners
should only tackle faults themselves if

original parts from ACO, or ACO-approved
spares, may be used when replacing com-
ponents.
Danger
Never climb into the manhole without
backup (a second person to assist you)
and until a clearance measurement (oxy-
gen content) has been performed. Only
people with the necessary qualifications
are permitted to climb into the separator
once it has been installed (and only if
necessary). If climbing inside, make sure
you have a secure footing. Do not stand
or climb on components. This is a dange-
rous situation which, if not prevented, will
lead to death or serious injuries.
