6,500 lb Retractable Trailer Jack Quick-Stand Extension
DRILLING HOLES FOR THE QUICK-STAND
Adding Holes
If the tongue jack has no holes in its extension tube, you must drill two holes
(one on each side):
1.
Insert the jack extension tube into the quick-stand head so that the bottom of
the jack extension tube lines up with the bottom of the jack head (Fig. 6-1).
Ensure there is at least an extra 1/4 in. of the extension tube sticking out
from the outer tube of the jack to safely clear the quick-stand head (Fig. 6-2).
2.
Rotate the quick-stand head until it points directly to the back of the trailer
and is not offset to either side.
3.
Mark the drilling hole locations on both sides of the
extension tube (Fig. 6-3) with a pen, pencil or marker.
4.
Center punch both of the hole locations.
5.
Drill a pilot hole at both of the locations using a 1/8
in. drill bit, then drill both of the holes using a
13/32 in. drill bit.
Shorter Quick-Stand Extension Leg
1.
Insert the shortened end of the extension leg into the tube of the base plate
until it rests on the bottom of the base plate tube.
2.
Rotate the extension leg (Fig. 7-1) so that the new
holes will be aligned with the existing holes in the top
of the extension leg.
3.
Mark the holes on each side of the extension leg with
a pen, pencil or marker (Fig. 7-2).
4.
Center punch both of the hole locations.
5.
Drill a pilot hole at both of the locations using a
1/8 in drill bit, then drill both of the holes using a
13/32 in. drill bit.
6.
Install the base plate to the extension leg with the 2-3/4 in. lock pin.
