Procedure for simultaneous bed making and mulch sheet laying
UN41-0339LI
Simultaneous bed making and mulch sheet laying
should be made on slightly damp soil which has been
sufficiently crushed and levelled and properly prepared
with a harrow or cultivator.
To make the bed and lay the mulch sheets at the same
time, proceed as outlined.
1)
Position the machine lengthways to the area
where you wish to make the bed and lay the mulch
sheets.
2)
Lift the work vehicle slightly off the ground.
3)
Adjust the forming sides to determine the bed di-
mensions (see "Adjusting the forming sides").
4)
Adjust the external conveying shares to ensure the
right amount of soil is conveyed to make the bed
(see "Adjusting external conveying shares").
5)
Adjust the internal conveying shares to convey the
right amount of soil towards the centre of the bed
(see "Adjusting internal conveying shares").
6)
Adjust the support wheels to ensure the compact-
ing roller packs the soil as needed (see "Adjusting
the support wheels").
7)
Adjust the position of the hoeing shares (see "Ad-
justing the hoeing shares").
8)
Adjust the position of the ridging disks (see "Adjust-
ing the ridging disks").
9)
Adjust the position of the pressure wheels on sheet
(see "Adjusting the pressure wheels on plastic mulch
sheet").

10) Adjust the distance from the soil of the support for
the mulch sheet roll - idler roller (see "Adjusting the
support for the mulch sheet roll - idler roller").
11) Unroll the roll (A), following the route of the mulch
sheet, as shown in the figure.
12) Lower the mulch sheet tensioning device (B).
13) Adjust the mulch sheet unrolling tension (see "Ad-
justing the mulch sheet unrolling tension").
14) Using the tractor's controls, lower the work vehicle
to the ground.
15) Hold mulch sheet on the ground.
16) Move the work vehicle forwards slowly, checking
your work frequently to ensure the bed is properly
formed and the mulch sheet properly laid; if neces-
sary, make the appropriate corrective adjustments.
17) Once the mulch sheet has been laid on the bed,
stop the machine and cut the sheet before starting
a new bed.
Information
When working, do not engage the reverse gear, as
this could damage the work vehicle.
Before engaging the reverse gear, lift the machine
off the ground.
