Connection directly to a pressure reducer
It is possible without any problems to screw
the intake of the sera CO
directly onto the needle valve of the sera CO
pressure reducer for CO
nal valve
. It can also be screwed onto the
1
needle valve outlet of various other CO
sure reducers (fits G 1/8 inch internal thread).
Remove the CO
connector nozzle
2
needle valve at the pressure reducer. Please
note that it may be glued in, and that you
therefore may need to exert some force with
a box-end or an open-end wrench. Remove
remaining glue from the internal thread.
Remove the intake connector
the union nut and the white sealing ring
from the sera CO
2
hand or a 14 mm open-end/box-end wrench.
The G 1/8" connection thread that now lies
open exactly fits into the internal thread of
the sera pressure reducer valve for CO
tles with external valve (and most other com-
mon needle valves). Place the included seal
ring
in the opening of the pressure re-

ducer and screw in the sera CO
valve hand-tight. This saves you additional
adapter pieces.
Make sure the side with the cable connection
directs away from the CO
not be able to install the CO
ducer on the CO

After installation, you may drip some soap-
suds on the connections to see whether they
are gas proof. The connection is not gas
proof if bubbles are formed. In that case you
need to screw in the connectors more firmly,
or replace the seal ring.
A seal ring is pressed in the intake side hose
connection that you removed. Therefore,
you can always reconnect the hose connect-

Important notes
• The duration of CO
the lighting period, because plants can only
take up and process CO
• Do not disconnect the hose connections
including
while the CO
under pressure. First close the main and
outlet valves of the bottle and wait until no
bubbles appear in the sera CO
integrated bubble counter any more.
• Pull the plug of the sera CO
bot-
before making any changes to the CO

tilization system.
• The CO
arrow shown. Otherwise, we cannot guar-
solenoid
antee trouble-free operation. Warranty is
void if connected improperly.
• The unit may only be connected to a prop-
erly grounded socket. Consult an electri-
cian if in doubt. The solenoid valve is con-
structed for carbon dioxide gas. It is not
permitted to use it with other gases. Direct
connection of the valve to a high pressure
gas bottle is not permitted.
• A high quality non-return valve (e.g. sera
non-return valve, item No. 08818) must be
integrated between the water and the
solenoid valve in order to prevent any
unwanted water back flow, e.g. into an
empty CO
water being drawn back into the unit is not
covered by warranty.
