OWNER'S MANUAL
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This is the safety alert symbol used for the OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS section of this manual to alert you to potential
personal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid possible injury or death.
1. The top of the jack's handle is equipped with a 3-position lever. Become familiar with the lever positions to properly operate the jack.
The lever must be in the middle position (DRIVE) anytime the jack is being moved with or without a load. In order to lift the jack's forks
the lever must be in the RAISE position before the handle can be pumped. In order to lower the jack's forks the lever must be moved to
the LOWER position.
2. Before moving a loaded pallet or standardized container make sure the jack's forks are centered under the load and the load is as
close to the handle end of the jack as possible. Do not let the load overhang the front end of the jack's forks when the forks could be
supporting most of the load. A properly distributed load is when the center of the load is positioned at the halfway point of the jack's
fork lengths.
3. Make sure the jack's front load bearing wheels are on the ground and not on top of a pallet's or standardized container's bottom
cross member before raising the jack's forks.
4. Make sure the length of the jack's forks match the length of the pallet.
5. Lower the jack's forks to the lowest position when the jack is not being used.
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
This is the safety alert symbol used for the PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE section of this manual to alert you to potential
personal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid possible injury or death.
1. Always store the jack in a well protected area where it will not be exposed to inclement weather, corrosive vapors, abrasive dust, or any
other harmful elements. The jack must be cleaned of water, snow, sand, grit, oil, grease or other foreign matter before using. Check the
wheels and axles everyday to make sure there is nothing to hinder the wheels from turning.
2. The jack must be lubricated periodically in order to prevent premature wearing of parts. All bearings and shafts include long-life
lubricating grease. Lubrication only needs to be applied at monthly intervals or after each time the jack is cleaned.
3. It should not be necessary to refill or top off the reservoir with hydraulic fluid unless there is an external leak. An external leak requires
immediate repair which must be performed in a dirt-free environment by qualified hydraulic repair personnel who are familiar with this
equipment. Authorized Service Centers are recommended. IMPORTANT: In order to prevent seal damage and jack failure, never use
alcohol, hydraulic brake fluid, or transmission oil in the jack. Use hydraulic jack oil, ISO VG32. The reservoir holds .4 liters (400cc).
4. Every jack owner is responsible for keeping the jack label clean and readable. Use a mild soap solution to wash external surfaces of the
jack but not any moving hydraulic components.
5. Inspect the jack before each use. Do not use the jack if any component is cracked, broken, bent, shows sign of damage or leaks
hydraulic fluid. Do not use the jack if it has loose or missing hardware or components, or is modified in any way. Take corrective action
before using the jack again.
6. Do not attempt to make any hydraulic repairs unless you are a qualified hydraulic repair person that is familiar with this equipment.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Adjusting the release valve
Note: Fine adjustment of the adjustment nut may be necessary for the 3-position lever to properly operate the jack.
1. When the control lever is in the DRIVE position and the jack's forks elevate as a result of moving the handle, turn the adjustment
nut #13 clockwise until the condition is corrected.
2. When the control lever is in the DRIVE position and the jack's forks lower as a result of moving the handle, turn the adjustment nut
#13 counterclockwise until the condition is corrected.
3. When the control lever is in the LOWER position and the forks do not lower, turn the adjustment nut #13 clockwise until the
condition is corrected.
4. When the control lever is in the RAISE position and pumping the handle does not raise the jack's forks, turn the adjustment nut
#13 counterclockwise until the condition is corrected.
Purging Air From The Hydraulic Power Unit
1. Air may become trapped in the hydraulic power unit during shipping and handling which may affect the performance of the jack. The jack's
forks may not raise when the handle is pumped in the RAISE position. This condition may be corrected by putting the lever in the LOWER
position and pumping the handle 10 to 15 times.
