SETUP
1. See Figure 1. Approach the jack from the rear where the jack's #9 hydraulic power
unit is located. Remove the #4 cotter pin from the #3 pivot pin and remove the pivot
pin from the #9 power unit. Do not discard as it will be installed in the next step.
2. Insert the bottom part of the #1 handle assembly in between the flanges of the #9
power unit as shown in Figure 1 while simultaneously lining up the holes in both
components. Insert the #3 pivot pin through the holes starting from the #9 power
unit flange on the left. It may be necessary to tap the pivot pin in place where the
hole in the pivot pin is properly rotated so the release chain can be routed through
it. Secure the #3 pivot pin in the #9 power unit with the #4 cotter pin.
3. Push the #11 handle lever (see exploded view drawing on page 5) downward to
lengthen the #10 chain. Route the #10 chain through the hole in the #3 pivot pin.
4. See Figure 3. There is a #12 lock nut on the threaded portion and at the bottom of
the #10 chain. There is also a threaded space between the #12 lock nut and the #13
adjustment nut. This threaded space is to be captured between the fork of the #14
release pedal.
5. See Figure 2. Pull the #1 handle assembly down enough to release pressure off the
#2 shipping pin. Remove the #2 pin from the #9 power unit and discard.
6. See Figure 3. Tighten the #13 adjustment nut down on top of the #14 release pedal
fork using an 8mm open end wrench. The jack is now ready for use.
