THE NATURE OF HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS

The use of pallet jacks is subject to certain hazards that cannot be prevented by mechanical means, but only by the exercise of intelligence,
care, and common sense. It is therefore essential to have owners and personnel involved in the use and operation of the equipment who
are careful, competent, trained, and qualified in the safe operation of the equipment and its proper use. Examples of hazards are dropping,
tipping or slipping of loads caused primarily by improperly securing loads, overloading, off-centered loads, use on other than hard level
surfaces, and using equipment for a purpose for which it was not designed.
METHODS TO AVOID HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS

SAFETY WARNINGS, MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS and comply with them, and failure to comply with the METHODS TO AVOID HAZ-
ARDOUS SITUATIONS could cause accidents resulting in serious or fatal personal injury and/or property damage.

IMPORTANT: READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE OPERATING
• Do not operate this jack unless you are familiar with it and have been trained or authorized
to do so.
• Inspect the jack before each use. Do not use jack if damaged, altered, modified, in poor
condition, leaking hydraulic fluid, or unstable due to loose or missing hardware or parts.
Make corrections before using.
• Designed only for horizontal lifting and transport of loads on a pallet or standardized container.
• Operators advised to wear protective gloves and safety shoes.
• Do not use jack beyond its rated capacity.
• Do not place any part of the body in the lifting mechanism or under the forks or load.
• Do not transport passengers.
• Use only on a hard level surface.
• Do not use adapters or extenders between the forks and the pallet or load.
• Do not handle unstable or loosely stacked loads.
• There should be at least 24" clearance between all persons and the load when load is being
transported.
• Always place loads centrally across the forks and not at the end of the forks.
