General operating instructions
Instructions for use
Go to the drain or clean-out closest to the stoppage. Pump the ram up to required pressure.(See "Specific
Applications")
Wedge tip of rubber cone into drain
To avoid splash back, press down firmly, putting your weight behind the ram
Snap trigger quickly for triphammer effect
It is quite easy to achieve a pressure of 6 bars. For a higher charge of air, use the schraeder valve and an external
compressor. Although the pressure gauge is graduated up to 16 bars, never exceed a pressure of 8 bars to clear
a line. Most lines can be cleared using only 2 to 4 bars of pressure.
The ram must hit a solid column of water, not air.
Procedure for clearing a pipe
Go to the drain or clean-out closest to the stoppage
Insert the rubber adapter of the pipe cleaning gun into the pipe opening. There must be some water in the basin,
so that the nozzle of the ram is under water when placed in the drain opening.
Pump the ram up to required pressure.
Snap trigger to release the pressurized air.
Observation:
Push hard against the pipe cleaner to avoid splash back.
The obstruction is destroyed at the moment of impact.
Remove the pipe cleaning gun from the opening of the pipe.
Flush line with water to remove any residue left after clearing.
If low pressure is unsuccessful, increase pressure. Never exceed a pressure of 8 bars
Using accessories
Extension for difficult access
This extension is suitable for use in cases where access is difficult.
Remove the rubber adapter from the end of the gun.
Screw the extension piece (A) onto the end of the pipe cleaner gun.
Slide the adapter best suited to the task to be performed onto the extension piece (A).
Place the adapter in the pipe opening.
Observation:
If the rubber adapter does not fully block the opening, place damp cloths around it to form a seal.
Pump the ram up to required pressure.
Snap trigger
Observation:
Push hard against the pipe cleaner to avoid flash back.
The obstruction is destroyed at the moment of impact.
Remove the ram from the opening of the pipe.
Run warm water in the pipe to remove any residue left after clearing.
If low pressure is unsuccessful, increase it till stoppage is cleared. Repeat the above steps, increasing the
pressure in stages. Do not exceed a pressure of 8 bars
Special toilets extension
Screw the special toilets extension onto the pipe cleaner gun.
Place the rubber adapter in the opening.
Observation:
If the rubber adapter does not fully block the opening, stuff a rag around the cone to form a good seal.
Bring the pipe cleaner gun up to a pressure of 3 bars.
Snap trigger to release the pressurized air.
The obstruction is destroyed at the moment of impact.
Remove the pipe cleaning gun from the opening of the pipe.
Run warm water in the pipe to remove any residue left after clearing.
If low pressure is unsuccessful, increase it till stoppage is cleared. Do not exceed a pressure of 6 bars.
