Mounting
This hood is designed for fitting in a cabinet or on some other
support.
Before beginning installation:
•
Check that the product purchased is of a suitable size for
the chosen installation area.
•
Remove the charcoal (*) filter/s if supplied (see also
relative paragraph). This/these is/are to be mounted only
if you want lo use the hood in the filtering version.
•
Check (for transport reasons) that there is no other
supplied material inside the hood (e.g. packets with
screws (*), guarantees (*), etc.), eventually removing
them and keeping them.
•
If possible, disconnect and move freestanding or slide-in
range from cabinet opening to provide easier access to
rear wall/ceiling. Otherwise put a thick, protective
covering over countertop, cooktop or range to protect
from damage and debris. Select a flat surface for
assembling the unit. Cover that surface with a protective
covering and place all canopy hood parts and hardware
in it.
•
In addition check whether near the installation area of the
hood (in the area accessible also with the hood mounted)
an electric socket is available and it is possible to
connect a fumes discharge device to the outside (only
suction version).
•
Carry out all the masonry work necessary (e.g.
installation of an electric socket and/or a hole for the
passage of the discharge tube).
Expansion wall plugs are provided to secure the hood to most
types of walls/ceilings. However, a qualified technician must
verify suitability of the materials in accordance with the type of
wall/ceiling. The wall/ceiling must be strong enough to take
the weight of the hood. Do not tile, grout or silicone this
appliance to the wall. Surface mounting only.
The numerical series of instructions given below refers to the
drawings you will find on the first pages of this manual,
containing the respective numbering.
Installation sequence
Installation on a wall mounted unit can be done with or without
using side brackets.
First check if the wall mounted unit is suitable for the hood in
accordance with the dimensions indicated in the drawings.
1. Install the air outlet fitting with 2 screws.
2. Remove the grease filters.
3. If the wall unit depth is higher than 275mm, use the kit
supplied spacer.

unit (without bracket side)
4. Apply the template for fixing making it to coincide with the
front part of the wall unit.
Note: The template should be cut to size as indicated.
Perform 4 through holes for the screws and the central hole
for the passage of the exhaust tube and electric cable.
Repeat the same holes (for the hose and cable) on the roof of
the wall unit.
5. Install an exhaust pipe sufficiently long to reach the ceiling
the wall unit (filtering version) or the exhaust system to the
outside (suction version).
Insert the tube and cable in the appropriate hole and make
them both come out from the wall unit ceiling.
Fix the hood to the bottom of the wall unit with 4 screws.
Note: Before tightening the screws make sure that the power
cable is not pressed and damaged in any way.
Installing the hood with side brackets
6. Perform a hole in the ceiling of the wall unit for the passage
of the exhaust tube and of the power cord.
(the dimension shown in Figure 6 for the hole does not include
any spacers).
7. Fix the brackets L-R (Fig. 7) to the side panel of the wall
unit with two screws per bracket
(The right bracket R on the right side, the left bracket L on the
left side).
Place the brackets at 26mm from the front edge of the wall
unit, taking into account that the rear edge of the bracket
corresponds to the upper rear of the hood.
8. Insert the tube and cable in the appropriate hole and make
them both come out from the wall unit ceiling.
Insert the hood in the wall unit by sliding to the limit the
brackets of the hood above the brackets attached to the
wall unit.
Feed the power cable into the slots on the wall unit.
Lock the hood by fixing the brackets to each other with 2
screws (one per side).
If the hood does not fit perfectly with the bottom edge of the
wall unit, loosen the screws P of the brackets E installed
on the hood, to adjust the geometry (Fig. 8),
thus making possible the perfect adjustment of the coupling
between the hood and the wall unit, then retighten the screws.
9. Only for the filtering version apply the carbon filters.
10. Reinsert the grease filters.
