8.6 Contact for external safety device

An external safety device (e.g. differen-
i
tial pressure controller, smoke detector)
can be connected to terminal X2 (12
V). For wiring diagram  installation
instructions, Chapter 13 to 16.
Air-ventilated fireplaces
If the ventilation unit is being operated at the
same time as an air-ventilated fireplace, a
differential pressure controller is needed
as the safety device.
The differential pressure controller prevents
the ventilation system from being operated if
the air pressure in the fireplace's installation
area falls by the permitted pressure in relation
to the flue draught. If this happens, the venti-
lation unit switches off.
The differential pressure controller is connect-
ed as a normally closed contact.
When the impermissible partial vacuum is
reached, the differential pressure controller
opens and thereby directly interrupts the cur-
rent supply to the fans. A PTC heat register,
if present, shuts off too.
The note "External safety shutdown

triggered" appears on the control unit.
If the differential pressure controller
is closed, the ventilation unit starts up
again.
External safety device
If the safety device connected to terminal X2
(12 V) is triggered (pressure error, smoke etc.),
the ventilation unit shuts down automatically.

8.7 Switching test

A switching test can be used to check the
following unit or accessory components.
● Supply air / outside air fan
● Exhaust air / outgoing air fan
● Bypass shutter
● PTC heat register
● Switching contact basic circuit board (main
circuit board)
● Brine circulating pump (with ZP 1)
● Zone shutter, zone 1 and 2 (with ZP 1)
● 3-way air shutter (with ZP 1)
●
Supplementary heating relay
You receive information as to whether the
components are currently switched on or off
and/or are open or closed. To check the
components  Chapter 6.16.

8.8 Connection via network/web server

Danger from electric shock. Before remov-
ing the front cover, disconnect the ventila-
tion unit at all poles from the power supply,
secure against being accidentally switched
back on and position a visible warning sign.
1. Connect ventilation unit and PC* with the
router/network using a patch cable.
* System requirements: PC with Internet
access and Internet Explorer Vers. 11 or
higher.
2. On the PC/notebook set the IP address to
automatic (DHCP) and save the setting.
3. Enter http://maicokwl in the Internet
browser's address line. An input window
appears.
4. As user: Enter user name admin. There
is no need to enter a password. The web
server opens.
