1 Qualifications of specialist installer
The ventilation unit may only be set up, retro-
fitted, started up, cleaned and maintained by
a trained specialist in accordance with these
instructions.
You are considered a trained specialist if
your specialist training or experience in venti-
lation technology
● enables you to correctly and safely under-
take the installation, calibration and mainte-
nance of the ventilation unit in accordance
with the planning documents and these
instructions and
● you are able to recognise and avoid risks
resulting from incorrect installations and
settings and the resultant hazards.
Only a trained electrician is permitted to work
on the electrics. You are considered a trained
electrician if your specialist training and expe-
rience
● means that you are familiar with the relevant
standards and guidelines
● enables you to correctly and safely under-
take the electrical connections in accord-
ance with the wiring diagram provided and
● enables you to recognise and avoid risks
and hazards associated with electricity.
1.1 Intended use
This device is used as a ventilation unit with
heat recovery system that provides controlled
ventilation of apartments, offices or compara-
ble rooms.
The ventilation unit is only intended for do-
mestic use and similar purposes. No other or
additional use is intended.
After successful commissioning, instruct users
in how to use the ventilation unit and operat-
ing units.

The following warnings indicate hazard situ-
ations which result / could result in death or
serious injury (DANGER / WARNING) or mi-
nor injury (CAUTION) if not avoided. NOTICE
indicates potential damage to the product or
its surroundings.
1.2 Non-intended use
When using the ventilation unit, always follow
the basic safety information. The ventilation
unit must not be used in the following
situations under any circumstances. Read
all the safety instructions.

Risk of combustion/fire from flam-

mable materials, liquids or gases in the
vicinity of the ventilation unit.
Do not place any flammable materials, liq-
uids or gases near the ventilation unit, which
may ignite in the event of heat or sparks and
catch fire.
Risk of death if an air-ventilated fire-

place is connected to an exhaust gas
system, which itself has multiple connec-
tions. The air-ventilated fireplace may result
in exhaust fumes being transferred to other
living units. Risk of death, for example from
carbon monoxide.
Never use ventilation unit if there are
air-ventilated fireplaces in the living unit
that are connected to exhaust gas systems,
which themselves have multiple connections.
Risk of explosion

Explosive gases and dusts may ignite and
cause serious explosions or fire.
Never use ventilation unit in an explosive
atmosphere.
Risk of explosion

Explosive substances in lab extraction units
may ignite and cause serious explosions or
fire. Aggressive substances may damage the
ventilation unit.
Never use ventilation unit in combination
with a lab extraction unit.
