Background information on radio
transmission
Free-control is ideal for use wherever the
subsequent addition of new or expansion
of existing installations is impossible or can
only be accomplished with difficulty. This also
applies to the upgrading of extractor hoods
to meet the Firing Directive (FeuV, dated
11/11/2007).
However, 100% transmission between the
transmitter and receiver can never be guar-
anteed when using wireless solutions. Having
said this, appropriate planning can greatly
increase transmission reliability.
The information regarding radio range is
always a free field value and should only be
viewed as a reference. In practice, it is impos-
sible to make a statement regarding radio
range inside buildings, as this depends great-
ly on the individual installation conditions
and numerous other factors. Every object
between the transmitter and receiver contrib-
utes to the reduction in transmission range.
The signal reduction or transmission range
depends upon the following, among other
things:
1. the nature of the intervening material
(e.g. wood, masonry, glass, ...)
2. the thickness of the intervening material
(wall thickness)
3. the climatic conditions
(dry environment, rain, snow, ...)
4. existing radio interference (any local radio
towers, in-house wireless routers, ...)
5. any existing radio dead spots (receiver
blocked by areas that cannot be
penetrated by radio waves)
6. The factors listed above can change unex
pectedly and greatly impact the
transmission range.
