damage to the unit as a result of overheating. So please do make sure that the pump is only operating as long as
there is enough liquid left to be discharged by it. For manual operation, please set the lever on the pump to the
"Manual" position.
To start the pump, please insert the mains plug in a 230 V AC socket. The pump will cut in immediately.
To stop the operation of the pump, please pull the mains plug off the socket.
7.3.
Thermal motor protection
The electrical pumps of the T.I.P. I-Compac series are equipped with an integrated thermal motor protection
feature. In the case of overload, the motor will switch off independently and on again after cooling down. For
possible causes and their elimination, please refer to the "Maintenance and troubleshooting" section.
8. Maintenance and troubleshooting
Prior to carrying out any maintenance work, the pump must be separated from the electrical
mains. If you fail to separate the unit from mains, there is a risk of an inadvertent start of the
pump.
We decline any liability for damage caused by inappropriate repair attempts. Any damage
caused by inappropriate repair attempts will avoid all warranty claims.
Observing the conditions of use and the ranges of application of the present device will reduce the risk of possible
operational malfunction and contribute to extend the lifetime of your unit. Sand and other abrasive matters
contained in the liquid discharged will speed up the process of wearing and tearing and accelerate the drop in
performance.
If the unit is operated properly, it will not require any maintenance.
To remove stubborn contamination or to clean the float, the pump pedestal (8) can be removed by loosening the
screws (9) located at the bottom of the pump. Subsequently, you can clean the pump wheel (3) and the pump
wheel chamber (4). To clean the float (2), please hold the guiding rod (12) firmly, then remove the rubber lock
(13). You can then remove the float and clean it together with the float chamber (11). After cleaning, please
reattached the float to the guiding rod. Please note that the conically tapered end of the float has to point
upwards, i.e. towards the top of the pump. Fasten the rubber lock again. Then reattach the pump pedestal and
ensure the proper position of the O-ring (15).
To clean the float switch, remove the lateral black cover located from the float chamber. To do this, proceed as
