8.Precoating

Maintenance precoating is to be carried out after every cleaning of the
filter cartridges.
Do not precoat the filters until shortly before the process of machining
starts.
The term Precoating, as used in this manual, means the covering of the filter with a so-called
precoating powder. This powder forms a protective coating and makes it easier to clean the filter
cartridge even from tacky and damp dust.
Precoating manual:
At first operation or at the installation of new filter cartridges, an increased precoating is
necessary to provide for a certain basic protection layer.
Precoating is necessary to be recovered after every cleaning of the filters.
The following steps are to be carried out for initial precoating as well as for maintenance
precoating.
1. Open the cap of the precoating socket
2. Switch on the fume extraction device.
3. Slowly trickle in the precoating powder through the opening of the precoating socket
(dosage see below)
4. Close the cap of the precoating socket. The device is now ready to operate.
Dosage for initial precoating: we recommend 200 ml per m² of filter surface.

Dosage for maintenance precoating: we recommend ca. 100 ml/m²
●
FPV 100 ca. 4m² = 400 ml
Additionally, it is advisable to precoat the filters according to the guideliness of maintenance
precoating after every downtime. This applies all the more, the longer the downtime is.
Dedusting of FPV 100
In practice, the following cycles have proved themselfes:
Little to moderate amount of dust : Once a day, at 8 to 10 hours of work.

Moderate to large amount of dust : Twice a day, within the 8 to 10 hours of work.
•
If a differential pressure manometer is installed : as it reaches 1500 Pa.

The dedusting of the FPV100 is made by the crank handle on the top. This should be
•
turned evenly and alternating into both directions approx. 100 times.
