ASSEMBLy INSTRUCTIONS (DIAGRAM 1 - 6)
1. Attach the mudguard for the front wheel to the front fork using a screw, washer
and nut. The mudguard for the back wheel is pre-mounted.
2. Put the front wheel into the fork and tighten thenuts. Make sure the hooks in the
lock washers are in their intended holes in the fork.
3. Push the fork from below through the frame, as shown in the diagram 3. Make sure
there is a plastic disc above and below the frame shaft.
4. Push the covering cap over the handlebar shaft. Then push the handlebar clamp
onto the fork shaft from above. Make sure that the handle clamp fits exactly onto
the fork shaft and is pushed down as far as possible. Check that the rings and the
guide sleeves are fully fitted into the frame. Now insert the handlebars into the fork
shaft from above. In order to set the handlebars at the highest position, pull out the
vertical handlebar shaft to any further, as this may lead to accidents. Make sure
that the handlebar shaft is fixed in correct alignment with the front wheel before
screwing the handlebars tightly into place.
5. Push the covering cap over the handlebar clamp.
6. Insert the saddle into the seat post. Make sure that the maximum seat height is not
exceeded, i.e. do not pull the seat post out beyond the MAX marking, as exceeding
the maximum seat height may lead to serious injury.
SETTING UP THE BAND BRAKE (DIAGRAM 7)
The brake system is pre-mounted in the factory and should be checked and adjusted
if needed before the bicycle is put into use. If you find the brake action insufficient
when checking the brakes, please turn the adjusting screw (a) a few times outwards
and the brake pressure will increase. If required, the brake cable on the screw (b) can
be set tighter by unscrewing the clamping nut and retightening the cable. Then tight-
en the clamping nut again. If this should still not suffice, you can adjust the brake
pressure by adjusting both brake drum screws (c) in quarter turns. After each adjust-
ment, check that the wheel can move freely as otherwise the brakes could get dam-
aged.
IMPORTANT!
After doing any work on the brakes please always check carefully to ensure that all
screws have been tightened and are functioning correctly.
