The Walkabout™ Tour portable requires either:
• Three AAA alkaline batteries.
• Or three rechargeable AAA NiMH batteries included with the optional Charging
Station.

Installing NiMH or Alkaline Batteries

1 Remove the battery compartment cover (10) by gently pressing
the arrow and sliding the cover off.
2 Insert three AAA batteries according to the polarity (+/-) shown
in the battery compartment.
3 Slide the battery compartment cover back into place.
After installing batteries, the portable clicks-on, and dICtAPHONE is
displayed briefly.

Charging NiMH Batteries

1 Connect the AC adapter to the Charging Station and an electrical
outlet.
2 Insert the portable into the Charging Station and charge for
about four hours.
• For best performance, do not mix used and fresh batteries.
4 • Power-up
Warnings:
• Do not mix Alkaline and NiMH batteries!
