■ Do not place fl ammable materials (e.g. cardboard, plastic, paper or candles) on or in
the device.
■ Only use heat-resistant utensils for placing food on or taking it off of the device. Keep
metallic objects or other objects with sharp edges away from the device. They could
damage the surfaces of the grill plates.
■ Do not use any aluminium foil. It could cause the device to overheat!
■ Do not insert foods packed in clingfi lm or plastic bags in or on the device.
■ Check the device for damages prior to each use. Only use the device if the device,
mains cord and the plug do not exhibit any damages!

Avoiding damage to materials, property and the device

■ Always place the device on a dry, fl at, solid and heat-resistant base with enough un-
obstructed space above and around the device (approx. 30 cm).
■ Lay the cable so that it does not pose a tripping hazard. Do not allow the cable to
hang over the edge of a table or kitchen worktop. Someone could catch him/herself
and pull down the device.
■ Make sure that the mains cord does not get pinched, kinked or laid over sharp edges
and does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
■ Do not use any additional accessories.
■ Maintain adequate distance to heat sources such as stoves or ovens to prevent dam-
age to the device. Do not place any open fl ames, e.g. burning candles, in the direct
vicinity of the device, cord and plug.
■ Do not allow the device to fall and do not subject it to strong percussions.
■ Do not pull or carry the base by the cord.
■ Do not subject the device to extreme temperatures, severe changes in temperature,
moisture, wetness or direct sunlight.
■ Always let the device cool off completely before you clean the parts or dispose of the
content.
■ Never spray cold water on the grill plates during or directly after using the device.
They could damage the surfaces of the grill plates!
■ Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device. They could
damage the surface.
Hygienic notes
■ The device may have production residue stuck to it. To avoid health risks, clean the
device before fi rst use (see chapter "Cleaning and care").
■ It is possible that smoke and odour may be produced the fi rst time you use the de-
vice. This is not unusual and has no bearing on the device safety.
■ Keep the device clean.
