Danger from Batteries
Batteries can be deadly if swallowed. You should therefore keep batteries and the
device out of the reach of small children. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical
assistance immediately.
Before inserting the batteries, check whether the contacts in the device and on the
batteries are clean, and clean them if necessary.
Use only the battery type specifi ed in the technical data (see the "Technical Data"
chapter).
Always replace all batteries together. Never use batteries of different types or brands,
or batteries with different capacities. When replacing batteries, ensure the correct
polarity (+ / –).
Non-rechargeable batteries must not be recharged or reactivated by other means.
Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the device before being recharged.
Batteries must not dismantled, thrown into a fi re, immersed in fl uids, or short-circuited.
Take the batteries out of the device when they are dead or if you will not be using
the device for a prolonged period. This will prevent any damage that might occur if a
battery leaks.
If a battery has leaked, do not allow your skin, eyes and mucous membranes to come
into contact with the battery acid. If you touch battery acid, rinse the affected sites with
abundant fresh water immediately and contact a doctor as soon as possible.
Remove a dead battery from the device immediately. Clean the contacts before new
batteries are inserted.

Avoiding Damage to Material, Property and the Device

Always set up the device with enough clearance on all sides and above and on a dry,
even, stable and heat-resistant surface.
Protect the device from naked fl ames, extreme temperatures, persistent wet condi-
tions and collisions.
Only the accessory parts supplied by the manufacturer should be used. If accessory
parts which are not authorised by the manufacturer are used, all warranty and
guarantee claims are void.
Notes on Hygiene
The device should be cleaned before you use it for the fi rst time. It is possible that
production residues may still be adhering to the surfaces. It is essential that you fol-
low the cleaning instructions in the "Before Initial Use" chapter.
Clean the device after each use to prevent germ formation (see the "Cleaning and
Storage" chapter).
