Congratulations on your purchase of this high-quality Bio CO
fertilizer system from DENNERLE. When properly used and maintained, it will allow you to
2
supply your aquarium easily, reliably and evenly with CO
– the most important fertilizer for aquarium plants.
2
DENNERLE hopes you will have many hours of fun and pleasure with your aquarium!
CO
is essential for all aquarium plants
2
From the building blocks of CO
(carbon dioxide), water and light, plants
2
produce their most important nutrient and energy store: sugar. They will
only grow and truly thrive – and provide your fish with the oxygen they, in
turn, need – if your aquarium's water contains enough CO
.
2
So only aquaria with very few plants or none at all will require additional
aeration as the natural producers of oxygen are missing.
A constant CO
supply
2
has other advantages
CO
dissolves in water partly as carbonic acid. Most tropical aquarium fish
2
and plants love this slightly sour water. It has a positive impact on the sen-
sitive skin of the fish. It will be easily for plants to absorb essential trace
elements.
As it directly promotes considerable plant growth, a constant CO
even fights algae. Thousands of times over, it has been proven that healthi-
ly growing water plants rob algae of the nutrients they need to survive. As
a consequence, existing algae generally shrink visibly within a few weeks,
effectively preventing algae from spreading excessively.
Constant CO
production
2
through CO
control gel
2
A fermentation process with pure sugar normally starts out very rapidly, but
abruptly drops off again after just a few days. DENNERLE Bio CO
control gel, on the other hand, produces a constant amount of CO
least 30 days – that translates into a virtually constant amount of CO
over one month.

Installation and Connection
1. Select an easily accessible place on your
aquarium for mounting the thermo con-
tainer. Pull the protective foil off the
adhesive strips on the thermo container.
Press the thermo container vertically
onto a clean and fat-free aquarium pane
and make sure it is firmly attached. The
thermo container has to fit evenly all
around against the pane.
Please note: The adhesive strips stick
very tightly. After pressing the thermo
container onto the pane, you will not be
able to move it.
2. Unscrew the cap of the Bio CO
bottle,
2
open the lift-up lid and take out the star-
ter capsule. Carefully pull up and remo-
ve the green half of the capsule.
Pour the contents of the starter capsule
into the bottle. Add the empty capsule
halves to the bottle as well.
3. Fill the bottle up to the marker line
(arrows) with tap water at 20 to 25°C
(NOT more than 25°C!).
Screw the cap on tightly. Important:
Inside the connector nipple of the bottle
cap is a built-in white microfilter. It must
not be removed.
