Connecting the data line

Connect the data line of the M-Bus module with the M-Bus control unit. After
2 minutes, the identity and the data of the heat meter are passed on. (Primary
address remains "0").
Communication with the M-Bus add-on module may only be initiated on
the M-Bus (e.g. starting the "Wildcard search") once the M-Bus add-on
module has permanently taken on the heat meter data.
This is the only way to ensure that the M-Bus add-on module presents the
heat meter data and remains invisible on the M-Bus itself.

Addresses in the M-Bus system

Each metering device is assigned a unique ID number (serial number or de-
vice number) from the factory. This ID is transmitted by the metering device via
the M-Bus add-on module to the M-Bus system as a secondary address.
Readout parameters
The following parameters are read out of the heat meter and transmitted to the
M-Bus control unit:
Short data telegram
• Device number (8-digit)
• Time/date
• Current consumption values (heat, volume)
• Due date
• Due date value (heat)
• Medium/software version
• Error status (readout 5 or 45 times per day)
• Error date
Extended data telegram
It is also possible to query the momentary state variables through application
selection:
• 13 monthly values (heat)
• Flow
• Capacity
• Energy
• Supply/return flow temperature
Application selection per EN 13757-3 or manufacturer-specific
