you have decided in favour of a sanitary ware item made of high-class honed basalt.
This product was carefully made by hand, sealed at the factory and is provided with
an initial care product.
Basalt is a natural stone which gives each product its unique and exclusive character.
Its characteristic features such as small pores and colour deviations are inherent to
the material, and it is especially these that make each product unique.
Basalt is an open-pore and water-absorbing material. In spite of its impregnation
and treatment, this material turns darker when it comes into contact with water.
Depending on the degree of hardness of the water, changes in colour are possible to
a smaller or greater extent (seen as stains and/or streaks). This is a typical and natural
process in this material. The changes in colour disappear when the basalt dries.
Our aim is to advise you on how to care for the products so that you will enjoy it for
years to come. Hence, it is important to observe the following points:
The sealant provided at the factory protects the surface against many products used in
bathrooms such as toothpaste, soap, shaving cream and shampoo. To avoid staining,
all dirt and residues of toiletries should be rinsed off immediatly.
Before first use
Basalt is sensitive to grease spots, in order to protect the product against grease the
product should be impregnated before the first use. For this purpose the surface has
to be cleaned first with Lithofin MN Multi-Cleaner. The product is diluted and applied
with a spongue. Let the product settle in for 15 minutes and remove with a damp
cloth, rinse with plenty of water.
After that the surface has to be impregnated with Lithofin Stain-Stop >ECO<, this pro-
duct is evenly applied on the surface. After 20 minutes the product is removed with a
cloth. The surface can darken slightly by impregnating.
Care
Please note that it is only possible to preserve the characteristic surface qualities
through correct treatment with coordinated care products.
