First use

Supplementary documentation
Make sure the supplied instruction man-
uals of the charger and the power pack
are available. Please read and under-
stand them before using the device.
Power pack charging
Risk of injuries or material damage
¾ Only charge the power pack using the
charger approved by the manufactur-
er. The designations of the approved
chargers are listed in the enclosed CE
Declaration of Conformity.
Attention!
The power pack is supplied partially charged. Be-
fore first use, fully charge the power pack to ensure
full capacity of the power pack.
Power pack charging must be carried out ac-

cording to the instructions in the supplementary
documentation.
Operating times
3 Observe the times stipulated in local byelaws.
Check with your local authorities to determine if
Î
there are any operating time limitations.

Assembly

Fitting the lower trimmer shaft unit B
Remove the cable tie that serves as a securing
Î
device during transport of the two trimmer halves.
Open the quick-release fastener [D].
Î
Push the sleeve [C] on the lower trimmer shaft [E]
Î
upwards up to the stop on the shaft end.
Close the quick-release fastener [D].
Î
With the quick-release fastener closed, push the
Î
upper trimmer shaft into the lower trimmer shaft.
When the locking knob [A] engages correctly in
the locking opening [F], a click will be heard.
Remove the assembly aid [G].
Î
Tighten the upper screw [B] with a Philips screw-
Î
driver.
Fitting the protective cover C
Position the protective cover [A] on the motor
Î
housing [B].
Fasten the protective cover to the motor housing
Î
using the four supplied screws [C].
Fitting the line head D
Fit the spacer [A] on the drive shaft and ensure
Î
that the spacer with the recess sits correctly on the
notch of the drive shaft 1 .
Rotate the spacer to the left or right until the hole
Î
in the spacer [D] is aligned with the recess [E] of
the gear casing.
Push the retaining rod [F] through the recess into
Î
the hole and hold it tight to lock the drive gear in
place 2 .
Position the line head [B] with the line head
Î
mounting [C] on the drive shaft 3 .
Hold the retaining rod firmly and screw the line
Î
head on its line head mounting [C] tight on the
drive shaft by rotating anticlockwise (to the left) 4 .
Note
Only tighten the line head on the drive shaft
when it located on the line head mounting.
Remove the retaining rod.
Î
Remove any adhesive tape (if applied) on the
Î
trimmer line and trimmer head.
Adjusting the trimmer shaft length E
The overall length of the trimmer can be adjusted by
undoing the quick release fastener [A].
Open the quick-release fastener [D] 1 .
Î
Push the lower trimmer shaft straight up or down
Î
until the desired length is obtained 2 .
Close the quick release fastener to lock the
Î
trimmer shaft in this position 3 .
