Maintenance

The R&S ETC does not need a periodic maintenance unless it is operated in dusty
areas.
Risk of instrument damage
If the R&S ETC is operated in dusty areas, the fans may become obstructed by
dust or other particles in the process of time. Make sure to check and, if
necessary, clean the fans regularly to ensure they operate properly at all times. If
the R&S ETC is run with obstructed fans for a longer period, it may become
overheated which may cause damage.
Clean the outside of the instrument when necessary and check the rated data from time
to time.
If any problem arises, contact one of our customer support centers. The addresses of
our customer support centers are provided at the beginning of this manual.
8.1

Cleaning the Instrument

The outside of the R&S ETC is suitably cleaned using a soft, lint–free dust cloth. Make
sure that vents are not obstructed.
Danger of shock hazard
Before cleaning the R&S ETC, ensure that the R&S ETC is switched off and
disconnected from all power supplies.
