5.2

Assembly

Remove the packing foil and dispose of it
in accordance with the valid environmen-
tal protection rules.
It is recommended that two persons per-
form the assembly.
The following tools are required for the assembly:
Phillips screwdriver
Combination spanner
Combination spanner
Allen wrench
Torque wrench
All individual parts are to be kept on a clean surface.
The assembly of the individual systems is described be-
low: As the mounting of the individual components is
nearly identical for all systems, the user is referred to
the relevant assembly sections such as, see Section
5.2.5
(Assembly of stairway).
5.2.1

Assembly of industrial access steps with guard rail

Assembly with wall fastening brackets and ground brackets
• Mount the step guard rail (6/1), refer to Section 5.2.7.
• Mount the plug-in step guard rail if necessary, refer
to Section 5.2.8.
• Mount the footboard (6/3), refer to Section 5.2.16.
• Place the steps at the installation position and secure
our against sliding. When installing it, ensure that
the full face of the ground bracket (6/3) and the wall
fastening bracket (6/2) lie on the supporting surface.
• Mark out holes on the supporting surfaces. All the
holes (Ø 8 mm) in the ground brackets and wall fas-
tening brackets are to be used for mounting.
• Drill holes and insert the dowels, observe the safety
rules given in Section
5.1
• Install the steps and fasten with screws.
Assembly with hooks and supports
• Mount the step guard rail (7/1), refer to Section 5.2.7.
• Mount the plug-in step guard rail, if necessary, refer
to Section 5.2.8.
• Mount the hooks (7/2) on the wall fastening brackets
(7/3), refer to Section 5.2.14.
• Mount the footboard (7/4), refer to Section 5.2.16.
• For mounting the supports (7/5) on the ground brack-
ets (7/4) of the stairway, refer to Section 5.2.15.
• When suspending the steps, the maximum support-
ing force should not be exceeded, refer to Section
• The steps are to be suspended in such a way that the
specified step angle (45° or 60°) is achieved.

Assembly with snap-in brackets
• Mount industrial access steps with snap-in brackets,
refer to Section 5.2.17.
5.2.2
Assembly of platform steps with guard rail and supporting
shank
• Assemble the stairway (8/5) refer to Section 5.2.5.
• Mount the step guard rail (8/1), refer to Section 5.2.7.
• Mount the plug-in step guard rail, if necessary, refer
to Section 5.2.8.
• Mount the platform guard rail (8/2), refer to Section
5.2.9.
• Mount the plug-in side platform guard rail laterally if
necessary, refer to Section 5.2.10.
• Mount the front platform guard rail if necessary, refer
to Section 5.2.11.
• Mount the plug-in front platform guard rail if neces-
sary, refer to Section 5.2.12.
• Mount the double barrier if necessary, refer to Sec-
tion 5.2.19.
• Mount the locking chain if necessary, refer to Section
5.2.21.
• Mount the hinged door if necessary, refer to Section
5.2.20.
Assembly with wall fastening brackets and ground brackets
• Place the platform steps at the installation position
and secure it against sliding. When installing, ensure
that the full face of the ground bracket (8/6) and the
wall fastening bracket (8/4) lie on the supporting sur-
face.
• Mark the holes in the support surfaces; all the holes
(Ø 8 mm) in the ground brackets and wall fastening
brackets are to be used for mounting.
• Drill holes and insert the dowels, observe the safety
rules given in Section
• Install the platform steps and fasten with screws.
Assembly with supporting shank
• Mount platform steps with protection shank, refer to
Section 5.2.6.
Assembly with hooks and supports
• Mount the hooks (9/4) on the wall fastening brackets
(9/5), refer to Section 5.2.14.
• Mount the supports (9/8) on the ground brackets (9/7)
of the stairway, refer to Section 5.2.15.
• While suspending the steps, the maximum support-
ing force should not be exceeded, refer to Section
• The steps are to be suspended in such a way that the

Assembly with snap-in brackets
• Mount platform steps with snap-in brackets, refer to
