1. Safety instructions
For skilled electricians and instructed person-
nel in accordance with national legislation, in-
cluding the relevant standards and, where ap-
plicable, in acc. with IEC 60079-17 on electrical
apparatus for explosive atmospheres.
The light fitting must not be operated in zone 0
and 20 hazardous areas!
The light fitting must not be use while
excessive deposit of dust (≥ 50 mm, accd. EN
50281-1-2) exist.
The technical data indicated on the light fitting
are to be observed!
Changes of the design and modifications to the
light fitting are not permitted!
The light fitting shall be operated as intended
and only in undamaged and perfect condition!
Only genuine CEAG/Cooper Crouse-Hinds
(CCH) spare parts may be used for
replacement!
Repairs that affect the explosion protection (see
national standard), may only be carried out by
CEAG/CCH or a qualified "electrician"
In the case of special service conditions in the
sense of a possible endangering by
electrostatic loading the user within own
responsibility or in coordination with the
manufacturer must specify suitable measures.
The national safety rules and regulations for
prevention of accidents and the following
safety instructions which are marked with
an (
) in these operating instruction, will
have to be observed!

2. Conformity with standards
This explosion protected light fitting meets the
requirements of EN 50281-1-1, EN 50014, EN 50018 and
EN 60 598 T.2-T.22. It also complies with the EC
directives for "Apparatus and protective systems for use
according to the rules in hazardous areas" (94/9/EC) and
"Electromagnetic compatibility" (89/336/EEC).
It has been designed, manufactured and tested
according to the state of the art and according to EN ISO
9001:2000.
The dKLK light fittings are suitable for use in Zone 1, 2
21* and 22* hazardous areas acc. to VDE 0165 and IEC
60079-10!
The enclosure materials employed, including the exterior
metal parts, are made of high-quality materials which
ensure a corrosion protection and resistance to chemical
substances corresponding to the requirements in a
"normal industrial atmosphere":

4. Special features
The lumionaire dKLK 23 will be supplied with a
flameproof inlet eXLink, which will be used for electrical
mains connection of the luminaire (2-pole + PE). The
attached eXLink-connector in moulded plastic with cage
clamp connection will be suitable for cables diameter Ø
8-11 mm and a wire cross section of 0.75 - 1.5 mm².
Please observe the relevant notes for installation and
operation according CCH instruction GHG 570 7001
P0001.
5. Installation
The respective national regulations as well as the
general rules of engineering which apply to the
installation and operation of explosion protected
apparatus will have to be observed!
Transport and storage of the luminaire is permitted in
original packing and specified position only!
Opening and closing the light fitting
Open the hexagon socket srew AF3 (fig 1A)
Unsrew and remove threaded ring with protective
cover.
Srew lamp with electronic ballast into lamp socket
E27 (fig 2)
If a monitored luminaire dKLK 23 CG-S is used, the
addressing must be done. See addressing (fig. 4)
Srew threaded ring with protective cover complete
into the luminaire thread, re-screw up to the safety
screw (fig. 3A) and fix the safety screw M4 (fig 3B).
Fix the luminaire at a sufficient mounting place using
the both threads M6.
When fixing the mounting accessories onto the light
fitting, observe the max. depth of thread of 9 mm!
Do not use too long screws!
Use connector GHG 57 (eXLink) for mains connection.
The terminal-links are:
L = Pin 1
N = Pin 3
PE = Pin PE

Mains connection with flameproof cable glands
The execution with flameproof cable gland type Capri
ADE 1F is suitable for cables with outer diameter of
8.5 - 16 mm.
Install the cable in accordance with fig. 6 and connect the
lines in accordance with fig. 5 (5a - L and N), 5b - PE).
Observe the test torques for the flameproof gland!

6. Taking into operation

light fitting shall only be cleaned with a damp, non-
fibrous cloth or sponge!

tension cracks in the protective bowl!
Repair
