Safety Information

Attention! The guarantee/warranty will be void if damage is incurred resulting from non-
compliance with the operating instructions. We do not assume any responsibility for
consequential damage!
We do not assume any liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by
improper use or the failure to observe the safety instructions! In such cases the warranty/
guarantee is void.
• The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is prohibited for safety and approval
reasons (CE). Never disassemble the product. There are no components inside the housing that need to
be adjusted or serviced by you. Furthermore, the guarantee/warranty would also expire in such a case!
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children!
• The product should not be allowed to become damp or wet.
• Always turn on the transmitter first and put the throttle in neutral position. Then the speed controller may be
connected to a battery pack and switched on. When switching off, proceed in reverse order – first switch off
the speed controller and disconnect it from the rechargeable batteries, then switch off the transmitter.
• Before turning off the transmitter, turn off the speed controller and, if necessary, disconnect it from the battery.
• Disconnect the rechargeable battery from the speed controller whenever the speed controller is not needed.
The speed controller can be temporarily switched off using the on/off switch.
• The speed controller is designed for 6-7 cell NiMH/NiCd batteries or 2 cell LiPo or LiFe batteries.
• The maximum permissible speed controller output is limited to 500 Watt for 5 minutes. Depending on the
battery voltage used, this results in different maximum permissible currents. For this, always observe the
technical data in these operating instructions. If the threshold values are not observed, the motor and/or
speed controller can be destroyed. Loss of guarantee/warranty!
• Both speed controller and the battery can become very hot during operation. Danger of burning!
• When operating vehicles, make sure that no body parts or other objects come into contact with moving parts.
Risk of injury!
• Always use a battery pack to operate the speed controller. Never use a power supply.
• Only connect a single carbon-brush motor to the speed controller. The speed controller is not suitable for
the operation of brushless motors with three connections!
• When installing the components, keep the greatest possible distance between the receiver and the speed
controller/motor to avoid interference.
• Do not install the aerial cable of the receiver in a parallel position to current-carrying cables. Do not coil up
the aerial cable. For example, use an aerial tube which protrudes from the vehicle in a perpendicular position.
• When the model is operated, the speed controller must be cooled sufficiently.
• Do not block the drive. The resulting currents may destroy the motor and/or speed controller.
• Observe a smooth drive section and perform regular maintenance.
• Check the vehicle and the speed controller/motor for damage. If you discover any damage, do not operate
the vehicle or the speed controller/motor anymore.
• Before recharging the rechargeable battery, disconnect it from the speed controller.
• Handle the product with care. It can be damaged by impact, blows or when dropped even from a low height.
• Do not leave packaging material unattended. It may become a dangerous toy for children.

Installation
• If the product is to be used as a replacement for an existing speed controller, first remove the old speed
controller from your model.
• Install the speed controller in the chassis. Choose a position which is as far away as possible from the
receiver. The speed controller should not be directly next to the motor either.
• You can use Velcro or double-sided tape to attach the speed controller. The speed controller must be
installed so that the cooling body is exposed to sufficient driving wind (cooling air).
• Connect the cables of the speed controller to those of the motor. Observe the colour coding. The forward/
reverse motion of the motor is then correct in combination with the speed controller (blue cable = motor minus
pole, orange cable = motor plus pole). If the motor is rotating in the wrong direction (depending on the
transmission of the vehicle), simply swap the two motor connections. The motor now rotates in the opposite
direction.
• The on/off switch should be attached so that it can be operated easily. Use Velcro or double-sided tape to
attach the switch.
• Install all cables so that they cannot become entangled in rotating or moving parts of the vehicle. Use cable
ties to secure them.

Connection to the Receiver
Connect the three-pole plug of the speed controller to the corresponding channel of the receiver.
Make sure the assignment on the receiver is correct (see operating instructions of the receiver as well as the
information on the receiver).
Yellow/white/orange cable: Control signal
Red cable: Operating voltage
Brown/black cable: GND/Minus/Ground
Since the speed controller is equipped with a BEC, no receiver battery or rechargeable battery
must be used!
The receiver is powered with operating voltage by the vehicle battery directly through the speed
controller.
If a separate receiver is to be used instead of the integrated BEC, the middle, red, wire of the three-
pole receiver plug of the speed controller must be interrupted.
If this is not observed, the speed controller will be destroyed! Loss of guarantee/warranty!

Programming
The speed controller can be programmed very easily with a single button:
• Switch off the speed controller.
• Connect the speed controller servo plug with the receiver. Ensure correct polarity of the servo plug
(black = minus/-)
• Switch on the transmitter.
• Keep the programming button pressed with a pointed tool (e.g. a ballpoint pen) and switch on the speed
controller (do not let go!). The speed controller emits several signals, the LED flashes briefly and goes out.
• Then let go of the button.
• The LED in the speed controller flashes slowly (short red, long break). The speed controller is now in the
programming mode "reverse power".
Press the programming button in the speed controller briefly. The LED flashes twice. You are now in the
programming mode "start power".
Press the button again briefly and the LED will flash three times. Now you can set "drag brake".
Press the button again, and the LED flashes four times. Now you can set "battery type".
Press the programming button again to return to the "Reverse Power" mode (LED flashes only once).
Briefly press the button in the switch to select a programming mode.
• After selecting a mode, keep the button pressed for approx. one second again until the controller emits a
sound sequence and the LED goes out.
Release the button. Now the LED in the controller flashes green. Now you can reprogram the selected
function (e.g. "reverse power").
