GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
This user manual includes information on the operation of your appliance and the precautions to be taken for your
safety. Please read it carefully before first use and keep it in a safe place for future reference.
Do not use this tool if any parts are missing or damaged.
This product must not be modified in any way.
Attachments that are tightened with excessive or insufficient torque, which may break, loosen, or separate, can
cause serious accidents. Disassembled assemblies can become projectiles. Assemblies that
require a specific tightening torque must be checked with a torque gauge.
If the markings indicating the rated load, operating pressure or warning signs are illegible or missing, they must be
replaced.
Operators and maintenance personnel must be physically capable of supporting the load, weight and power of the
connected equipment and must be able to perform the work.
INDIVIDUAL SECURITY
Wear safety shoes to avoid an accident in the event of a possible fall or during assembly. Repeated movements can be
harmful to hands and arms. If numbness, itching, pain or skin discolouration occurs, stop using the tool and consult
a doctor.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Slips, trips or falls are a major cause of serious injury or death. Pay attention to hoses left on the floor.
Always use the tool at a safe distance from people and objects near the work area.
The Hydraulic Kit is designed for indoor use in a well-lit environment on flat ground.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Hose
• Before operating the pump, tighten all hose connections using the correct tools. Do not overtighten; connections
need only be secure and leak-free. Overtightening can cause premature thread failure or high pressure fittings to split
at pressures lower than their rated capacities.
• Should a hydraulic hose ever rupture, burst, or need to be disconnected, immediately shutthe pump OFF, and open
the contrai valve to release all pressure. NEVER grasp a leaking, pressurized hose with your hands; the force of esca-
ping hydraulic fluid cou Id cause serious injury.
• Do not subjectthe hose to any potential hazard such as fire, extreme cold or heat, sharp surfaces, or heavy impact. Do
not allowthe hose to kink, twist, curl, or bendso tightly thatthe fluid flow within the hose is blocked or reduced. Do not
use the hose to move attached equipment.Periodically inspect the hose fo wear, because any of these conditions can
damage the hose and result in persona! injury.
• Hose material and coupler seals must be compatible with the hydraulic fluid used.Hoses also must not corne in contact
with corrosive materials such as creosote-impregnated abjects and some paints. Consultthe manufacturer before pain-
ting a hose. Never paint couplers. Hose deterioration due to corrosive material can result in persona! injury.
Pump
• Do not exceed the maximum capacity of the pump or tamper with the internai high pressure relief valve. Creating
pressure beyond the rated capacity can result in persona! injury.
• Completely retract the ram before opening the filler screw on the pump to add hydraulic fluid. An overfill can cause
persona! injury due to excess reservoir pressure created when rams are retracted.
Ram
• Do not exceed the maximum capacity ot the ram. Creting pressure beyond the rated capacity can result in persona!
injury.
• Do not set poorly-balanced or off-center loads on a ram. The load may tip and cause persona! injury.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
Setup
The pump may be operated in a horizontal position, or in a vertical position with the head painting down as shown.
1. Assemble the hose between the pump and ram.
2. Determine the appropriate attachment for your application; assemble the attach ment to the ram piston.
