CAUTION

The pump must be installed in a horizontal position and in dry condition. A shut-
off valve must be provided in the suction and discharge pipe. The series BADU
73 is non-self priming and therefore may only be installed below water level
(gravity feed, max. 3 m). The suction pipe dimensions in the table are only valid
for suction pipes not longer than 5 m.
With longer pipes the flow resistance increases and suction is impaired. Danger
of cavitation is also increased. Make sure that the suction line is not leaky,
otherwise the pump will prime insufficiently or not at all.

Electrical: All electrical connections should be performed by a qualified
expert only!
Before beginning any electrical or maintenance work, disconnect all parts from
the power supply. Please make sure that the electrical installation has a discon-
necting device, which allows disconnecting from the power supply with a mini-
mum of 3 mm contact gap at each pole. This pump is built according to Pro-
tection Class 1. The ambient temperature must not exceed max. 40°C.
Pumps with A.C. motors are equipped with an overload protection switch as
standard.
The motors are built according to isolation class F, the ribs may achieve tempe-
ratures up to 70°C.
Caution: The use of pumps for swimming pools and the restricted area
around them is only permitted if pumps are installed in accordance with
DIN/VDE 0100 part 702. Please consult your licensed electrician!
The supply circuit has to be protected with a fault current contactor with a
nominal fault current of I
According to the norm, electrical wiring H05RN – F, H07RN – F respectively
must be used. In addition, the permissible minimum cross section must be
adapted to the motor power and to the cable length.
6. Initial start-up
6.1
CAUTION
Fill the pump and the suction line with water until the water level reaches the
outlet connection. Never let the pump run dry, not even for the purpose of
checking the direction of rotation!
