Each safety zone must be surveyed before installation so that the configuration can be determined, taking the environment in which it will be used
into account. The position of the device will also need to be worked out according to the available height (distance in relation to the edges and height
in relation to the ground), the lifeline installation tension and the maximum lengths of each span. The maximum permitted number of users, the cable
deflection during a fall, the number of spans and the type of fall arrester to use can be determined using these parameters and our calculation software.
Depending on which configuration is chosen, the calculation software can determine the loads transmitted to the ends of the lifeline. These loads can be
used to determine whether the structure onto which the system is to be installed has the requisite strength, taking the mandatory 2x safety margin into
account. A qualified engineer must calculate or test whether the load-bearing structure to which the system components will be fixed will be capable of
supporting the loads transmitted while supporting workers or arresting a fall, taking the mandatory 2x safety margin and load lowering into account. The
same applies to the interfaces between fixing elements, where applicable.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

As a general rule, the device should be positioned above the user's position to reduce the risk of falling and the fall height as much as
possible.
The lifeline must be positioned no closer than 2 m from the fall risk.
The maximum lifeline slope is 15° from the horizontal (ground)
The choice of location must take into account:
o
the clearance needed for the fall protection system connected to the anchorage device
o
the risk associated with the pendulum effect in the event of a fall
o
the fall factor
o
the environmental constraints in the area the system is to be installed (site in operation when in use, rotating machinery,
electrical hazards, etc.)
o
the cable deflection and loads at the ends of the lifeline
Minimum span length: 5m
Maximum span length: 15m
The lifeline must be reachable from an access point without putting users at risk of falling.
This system must only be installed by competent, trained persons.
The installer will provide the owner with all documentation relating to ENTECH01 installation (can be downloaded from our website), in accordance
with EN 795:2012. This documentation will then be made available to the competent person responsible for routine inspections. A schematic of the
installation with all relevant information for the user, such as the position of anchorage points, will be affixed to the building so that it is visible or
available to all (e.g. at the roof access point).
It is imperative that only original parts and related fixing components supplied by KRATOS SAFETY are used.
The system must be installed in accordance with the safety conditions required under the regulations by installing the requisite collective and/or
individual protective devices.
The following receiving structures can accommodate the lifeline: concrete, metal frames, timber frames and steel box section and standing seam roofs.

As 'lightweight' receiving structures such as steel box section and standing seam roofs are not as strong, additional precautions must be taken when
sizing the device. Taking the mandatory 2x safety margin into account, the forces transmitted to the structure when supporting workers and arresting
falls must be reduced so as not to exceed the load these materials can accommodate, namely 7.5 kN. To achieve this, it may be necessary to increase the
number of intermediate posts and/or absorbers.
As far as materials such as stone and concrete are concerned, the lifeline components must be secured using through rods or chemical anchors, which
must be tested for strength by subjecting each structural anchor to a tensile force of 5 kN for 15 seconds before installing the system. Warning! Take
precautions when carrying out the above tests and ensure they are done under favourable conditions (flat supporting surface for positioning the measuring
device, support points outside the concrete cone failure area as defined by the manufacturer where applicable, etc.) so as not to damage the installation.
KRATOS SAFETY declines any liability for damage sustained by the system and/or installation during these tests.
As far as timber structures are concerned, the components must be secured using counter plates. As far as brick and breeze block masonry are concerned,
the components must be secured using FA 60 207 00 counter plates so that the loads are spread evenly.
Check the suitability of using the structural anchor or fixing with the construction materials by factoring in the loads recorded on the anchorage device
during the dynamic strength and integrity tests.
Interfaces must be protected against corrosion where applicable.
The device must be installed in such a way that when a fall is arrested, the deflection of the anchor line does not put it in contact with any sharp edges
or anything else that could damage it.
Fixings:
As far as fixings such as threaded rods, nuts, screws and bolts, washers, anchors, rivets and other components used to secure the system in place are
concerned, it is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions for each individual fixing used.
Tightening torques:
M10: 88 Nm
M12: 118 Nm
A data plate must be affixed to each device and access device providing information on: the requirement to use a fall arrest system that is compatible with
the fixing system, the available fall height, the number of permitted users and the length of the system. These data plates must be filled in after installation
and each time a periodic inspection is carried out.
If the anchorage device cannot be accessed after installation, we recommend placing an additional marker near the anchorage device in question.
A crimping tool with the following characteristics is required for crimping the cable to the tensioner and the end piece:
Crimping characteristics: 130 kN of force
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE: (These instructions must be strictly observed)
During transportation, keep the equipment away from any cutting edges and keep it in its packaging. Clean with water, wipe with a cloth and hang in a
ventilated room to dry naturally, ensuring that it is away from any direct light or source of heat; the same applies for elements that may have become wet
during use. The system must be stored in its packaging in a cool, dry and ventilated room.
