The following options are available for securing
the unit:
Screws
• Secure the clamping unit to the work surface
using four screws. Use the four holes [5-1].
Clamping support
• Secure the clamping unit to the work surface
using the clamping support. The corners are
used as clamping surfaces.
Vacuum
The base surface must be absolutely fl at, smooth
and made from an airtight material.
• Slide the valve [6-1] into position [B] after con-
necting and switching on the vacuum pump.
Correct functioning is only guaranteed in the
end positions.
The vacuum force secures the clamping unit to
the base surface.
• To release the clamping unit, slide the valve [6-1]
to position [A].
• Make sure that the hose connected to the foot
valve and the vacuum pump do not pose a stum-
bling hazard.
Tilting the suction plate
• Release the clamp lever [7-1].
• Tilt the suction plate [7-2] to the required posi-
tion. The tilting range is 0° to 90°.
• Clamp the tilting housing by turning the clamp
lever [7-1] fi rmly in a clockwise direction.
Turning the suction plate
• Unscrew the rotary knob [8-1].
• Turn the suction plate [8-2] to the required posi-
tion.
• Clamp the suction plate by turning the rotary
knob [8-1] as required for the task in hand.
Allow the suction cup with attached workpiece
to rotate during work.
Changing the suction plate
Other suction plates are available in different
shapes and sizes as accessories, allowing you to
clamp a wider variety of workpieces.
• Position the suction plate in a vertical position
as shown in [Fig. 8].
• Unscrew the rotary knob [9-1].
• Pull out the locking pin [9-2] and rotate approx.
90°.
• Pull out the suction plate [9-3] while turning.
• Insert another suction plate with the ribs on the
suction plate resting against the clamping unit.
• Turn the locking pin [9-2] until it engages. Please
check.
• Clamp the rotary knob [9-1].

Operation
WARNING
Risk of accident - read the following prior to
operation:
• The clamping unit should be attached securely
to the base and should not move.
• The indicator on the vacuum gauge [1-3] must
remain within the green sector at all times.
As soon as the indicator enters the red sector,
stop work immediately and rectify the cause of
the fault (see "Chap. 13 Fault rectifi cation").
• Check the rubber cups on the suction plate and
the rubber seal on the base before using the
machine. Never work with a damaged suction
plate or rubber seal.
• Clamp workpieces so that the centre of grav-
ity is positioned over the suction plate. The
workpiece must protrude at least 1 cm over
the edge of the suction plate on all sides.
• Do not push or pull on the clamped workpiece
with excessive force. There is a risk that the
workpiece will come loose from the suction
plate.
• Check whether the workpiece is seated se-
curely before starting work.
Working method
• Switch on the pump at the on/off switch [1-2] (I
= ON, 0 = OFF).
• Connect the vacuum hose to the connector [3-2].
• Wait until the indicator on the vacuum gauge
[1-3] is within the green sector.
Clean the sealing lip on the suction plate with
a cotton cloth soaked in white spirit so that no
marks are left behind when the workpiece is
clamped.
• Place a workpiece on the suction plate.
The workpiece triggers the button valve [10-1]
and the suction force then secures the workpiece.
• Check whether the workpiece is retained se-
curely.
• Perform the required work on the workpiece.
Removing the workpiece
WARNING
Risk of accidents
• Always hold the workpiece with both hands
before actuating the foot valve.
• Make sure that the workpiece cannot fall or tip
after the foot valve is actuated.
