1. Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power outlet.

3. Press and hold down the contact shoe lock.
4. Slide the contact shoe to the desired position.
5. Release the contact shoe lock.
6. Grip and pull the contact shoe to check that it is locked in position.

Installing the side handle
1. Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power outlet.
2. Remove the saw blade. → page 6
3. From above, mount the adapter on the front grip.
4. Slip the side handle over the blade holder and onto the adapter.
5. Secure the side handle with the securing screw.

Positioning the side handle
1. Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power outlet.
2. Slacken the securing screw in the side handle.
3. Move the side handle to the desired position.
4. Secure the side handle with the securing screw.

Switching on and off
WARNING
Risk of injury due to saw run-on !
▶ Do not lift the product away from the workpiece until it has stopped completely.
▶ Wait until the product stops completely before you lay it down.
1. To switch the reciprocating saw on, press the transport lock and press the control switch.
2. To switch the reciprocating saw off, release the control switch.
5.7
Switching the orbital-action function on and off
The orbital-action function can increase cutting performance in certain materials such as wood-based
products, for example.
Allow the product to come to a complete stop before you engage or disengage the orbital-action
function.
▶ Switch the orbital-action function on or off by setting the orbital-action switch to the appropriate limit
position.

Inserting the pipe-cutting adapter
1. Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power outlet.
2. Remove the saw blade. → page 6
3. Remove the contact shoe by pressing and holding down the lock and working the contact shoe forward
until it disengages.
4. Push the pipe-cutting adapter into the guide and install the saw blade.
5. Grip and pull the pipe-cutting adapter to check that it is locked in position.
6. Release the screw clamp on the pipe-cutting adapter fully.
7. Loop the chain around the pipe and hook the chain back onto the pipe-cutting adapter.
The clamping screw should be at an angle of 45° to the saw.
