Operation

Safety Information
Danger!
Risk of accident if the ball coupling becomes de-
tached during the drive! After each coupling, make
sure the ball coupling is firmly seated in the ball on
the towing vehicle!
Adhere to swivel range from vertical ± 25° and hori-
zontal ± 20°!
The coupling ball should be greased (to prevent ball
and casing from being scratched).
Activating the coupling mechanism
Danger!
Improper use can cause damage or deformation
to occur to the detent pawl and handle. As a result,
the ball coupling will no longer be operable and
must be replaced.
1. Press the detent pawl (4-1) down completely at the
handle using your index finger.
2. Make sure that the detent pawl (4-1) disappears into
the handle (4-2) completely.
3. Pull up the handle (4-2) completely and release the
detent pawl.
The ball coupling is open.
Coupling
1. Place ball coupling on the tow ball.
The ball coupling engages automatically when there
is a sufficient drawbar load. If drawbar load is insuff
icient, press the ball coupling downwards manually
until it engages (e.g. tandem trailer).
2. Check the ball coupling for firm seating.
The detent pawl (5 -1) must be lowered.
The coupling is seated correctly on the ball if the
green cylinder of the safety indicator (5 -2) is vis-
ible.

Uncoupling
1. Press the detent pawl (4 -1).
2. Lift the handle (4 -2).
3. Lift ball coupling off the tow ball on the towing
vehicle.
The coupling handle stays in the „open position".

Wear display

The wear display on the coupling handle shows:
the wear limit on the coupling ball of the towing
vehicle
the wear limit of the ball coupling
Danger!
The ball coupling can be become detached when
the red range is shown.
Have the ball coupling and tow bar checked imme-
diately. Replace the worn partimmediately!
Wear test

1. Couple the trailer on the towing vehicle.
Marking shows the green range (+)
ball coupling in its new status
the wear on the towing vehicle tow ball is in
the permitted range
Marking shows the red range (-)
Tow ball on the lowest wear limit Ø49 or less
(ball coupling without wear)
Ball coupluing as delivered Ø50 (ball coupling
shows increased wear)
ball coupling and tow ball show wear
Ball coupling damaged
The marking is not within the coloured range
Ball coupling not coupled
