A GOOD MORNING WITH DESIGN
There are objects created to leave a trace in the history of design, as well as in
our lives and homes. The ts 522 radio receiver is one of those. Designed by Marco
Zanuso and Richard Sapper and manufactured by Brionvega since 1964, it is the
radio which changed the radio. A coloured, not a grey one, featuring a never-seen-
before shape: the cube. A synthesis of technology in two shells. Able to become
the radio par excellence.
So unique to be displayed at important museums of modern art. So modern it
seems to have been created today. And it doesn't stop renovating. Now it is avail-
able in radio/alarm clock version, under the new name ts 522 rc. In doing this, the
BV Company acquired the Brionvega's essence to infuse new life into the great
classics of the brand. The shape remains unchanged in its beauty, the technologi-
cal essence is updated. The myth continues. The day can start. In the best of ways.
THE ORIGINAL SHAPE
The equation Brionvega=design was the result of the fruitful collaboration under-
taken with great masters of design, able to reinterpret objects by inventing some-
thing completely different from the past. Marco Zanuso, together with Richard Sap-
per reinvented the radio dividing it and setting it up in two different but connected
pieces. He created a radio-non-radio, capable of shaping and transforming itself,
of being lively and vivacious. Whether on or off. Open or closed. Her. Always.
AWAKENING THE SENSE OF BEAUTY
Regaining one's own time means being able to enjoy simple pleasures in life. Mo-
ment after moment. From the start of the day. To the very end of the day. So the
Quality of life also passes through a radio/alarm clock. Featuring a timeless shape.
For the most sonic of awakenings, for the most musical of lullabies.
JUST A TOUCH ...
To turn off the alarm, whether radio or snooze mode, just touch the upper part of
the right shell. Under the surface are sensors linked to an electronic circuit acti-
vating the turn off function. A really sensitive radio alarm clock.
THE MYTH IS IN THE DETAILS
Two hinged cube-shaped bodies, made of ABS, washable, unchangeable.
A light shell, made in two pieces that open symmetrically, available in the classical
colours, bright orange, snowy white, and jet black. Already poetic in their names.
A loudspeaker grid in aluminium alloy, a high-sensitivity extendable aerial. Tuning
bands and memorized frequencies signalled by LED indicators. Precision down
to the tiniest detail, carefully selected materials. High technology, assembled by
careful craftsmanship. Values lasting over time.
DESIGN IS PUNCTUAL
The Atomic Clock. Nothing radioactive, rather something very handy: time is au-
tomatically set by the signal from the geostationary satellite in orbit over Europe.
Time is adjusted repeatedly during the day, usually between 3 and 6 am. This also
applies to summer-time. So no time wasting adjusting the time. Undoubtedly a
very smart radio/alarm clock.
