• The kettle is suitable for use
in private households and for
heating water in normal house-
hold quantities. All other use is
contrary to that intended and
can lead to injury or damage.

caused by using the appliance in
ways other than that intended.
• Use the kettle only with the
corresponding base unit.
• Connect the appliance only to
a correctly installed socket.
• Place the kettle on a dry, level
and stable surface.
• Fill only with fresh, cold water.
• The kettle must not be over-
filled. If it boils over there is
the risk of scalding. Capacity
max. 1.7 l (see markings on
appliance).
• Only use the kettle to boil
water, do not use to heat other
liquids.
• Do not use the kettle without
the limescale filter.
• Do not use the kettle without
the lid. Do not open the lid
when heating water.
• Parts of the kettle become very
hot when it is in use. Avoid
contact with these parts and
with hot steam.
• Never immerse the kettle in
water.
• Remove the kettle from the
electric socket when it is not
being used for a longer period.
• Do not use the kettle if the
power cable is damaged
• This appliance can be used by
children who are 8 years old
or over, if they are supervised
or have been instructed in the
safe use of the appliance and
have understood the dangers
associated with it. Cleaning and
maintenance of the appliance
should not be undertaken by
children unless they are 8 years
old or over and are supervised.
The appliance and power cable
should be kept away from chil-
dren under 8 years old.
• The appliance can be used by
people with limited physical,
sensory or mental capacities
or limited experience and/or
knowledge, if they are super-
vised or have been instructed
in the safe use of the appliance
and have understood the dan-
gers associated with it.
• Children must not play with
the kettle.
• Replacing the power cable and
any other repairs should only
be carried out by the Melitta
customer service or by an au-
thorised repair workshop.
