Personal protective equipment shall be used: Always
wear eye and hearing protection and when necessary
also other personal safety equipment such as gloves,
apron and helmet.
Remember that there is a running on after the
throttle has been released.
If a grinder fitted with an abrasive wheel is
dropped, the wheel must be thoroughly examined
before reuse.
Disconnect from power supply before changing
wheel or servicing.
Release control device in case of interruption of
energy supply.
Always keep the tool in a dry and clean place
when not in use.
Avoid long term harmful effects when
using the machine
Prevent gradual loss of hearing due to exposure
to high noise levels – wear ear protection.
Vibration may be harmful to hands and arms
– Reduce time of exposure to vibration. Poorly bal-
anced wheels should not be used. Use vibration
damped tools when available.
Inhalation of oil mist may be harmful, use only
recommended lubricants.
Dust and fumes generated during operation may
be harmful.
Use spot suction or breathing apparatus. See also
EN 626.
Maintenance
Follow instructions for lubrication, cleaning and
overhaul given in the written instructions supplied
with the machine.
Make sure that service personnel are trained.

Safety and operating instructions
Take special care concerning dismantling and as-
sembly of speed governors and overspend shut off
devices.
Always check the free speed after service.
Use genuine Atlas Copco replacement kits and
parts only.
Warning
Make sure you are familiar with the operating instruc-
tions before you use this machine.
This machine, its attachments and accessories must
only be used for the purpose for which they were
designed.
For product liability and safety reasons any
modification to the machine, its attachments or ac-
cessories must be agreed in advance with an author-
ized technical representative of the manufacturer.
To prevent personal injury and long time risks:
• Familiarise yourself with the enclosed leaflet
"General Safety Manual for Grinders".
• Before making any adjustments to the machine,
e.g. changing an accessory, please ensure that the
air supply is disconnected and the machine is
safely isolated.
• Inspect the wheel guard and before attaching the
grinding equipment.
Always make sure that you have the correct guard
for the grinding equipment.
• Regularly adjust guard to compensate for wheel
wear.
• The grinding equipment must be approved for the
rated speed of the machine.
• Check the free speed of the machine at regular
intervals and whenever the machine has been
serviced. This check should be carried out with
the grinding equipment detached.
NOTE - Before checking the speed the backing
flange is to be locked with the nut.
• The rated speed marked at the top of the machine
must not be exeeded more than 10 %. Adjustment
of the speed is to be carried out according to the
service manual by authorized service personnel
only.
