3 .3 Change wind speed display ( )

Press the button twice or more times to
select a different wind speed display.
When the button is pressed once a flashing
is displayed for 5 sec. to show that the wind
speed display can be changed.
Press the button
twice when in normal
display *).
The maximum wind
speed since switch-
ing on or since the
last reset will be dis-
played.
MAX, the maximum
wind speed and
RESET will flash for 5
sec. and then remain
displayed.
*) This is also possible from Close Hauled or
true wind display.
The maximum wind
speed can be reset
by pressing the
LIGHT (RESET)
button while MAX,
the maximum wind
speed and RESET
are still flashing.
After pressing the
LIGHT (RESET) but-
ton the maximum
wind speed since
the reset will be dis-
played.
If no reset is entered
the maximum wind
speed since switch-
ing on will be dis-
played.

Press the button twice. The wind speed can
now be reset again.
Or: Press the but-
ton three times.
The proportion of the
ship's speed which
is parallel to the true
wind will be dis-
played.
This is termed
'Velocity Made
Good', units are
always knots (kts).
This will only be displayed correctly if the
ship's speed is known and the instrument
receives a signal giving the speed .
VMG will flash for 5 sec. and then remain
displayed.
Press the button
twice.
Depending on the ini-
tial situation:
The apparent (APP)
wind speed and wind
direction will be dis-
played
APP will flash for 5
sec. and then remain
displayed.
This is the normal display.
