3 Operating

3 .1 Switching on

The instrument must be switched on with a
separate switch (there is no ON/OFF switch on
the instrument itself).
All segments will
be shown for 2 sec-
onds. *).
*) If the LIGHT (RESET) button is pressed
and held in until the software version is no
longer displayed all settings will be reset to
the factory settings (Default).
The software version
and RESET will be
displayed for 4 sec-
onds.
The apparent (APP)
wind speed and
wind direction will be
displayed (for exam-
ple 5.8 m/s en 35˚
port).
This is the normal
display.
The instrument must be calibrated when it is
used for the first time . See Chapter 4 .
If the instrument has already been cali­
brated it is now ready for use . See Chapter
3 and further for how to operate .

3 .2 Change wind display (

Press the
select a different wind display.
When the
is displayed for 5 sec. to show that the wind
display can be changed.
Press the
twice when in normal
display.
The scale will change
from 2x 180˚ to 2x
70˚. This is termed
'Close Hauled'.

The scale will change
from 2x 70˚ to 2x
180˚.
The true (TRUE)
wind speed and wind
direction will be dis-
played.
This will only be
displayed correctly

ment receives a signal giving the speed .
TRUE will flash for 5 sec. and then remain
displayed.
Press the
