iMPOrTanT: A wet test of the filter under operating conditions must be carried out before the
UVC or electrical supply is installed.
4.1 Wet Test of the Filter
Connect the filter following all installation instructions. After running for 24 hours test
for leaks.
• Remove chamber cover lid screw (18).
• Remove the chamber cover lid (16) from the chamber (9); a screwdriver can be used to aid
leverage.
• Inspect the chamber (9) and quartz sleeve (13) for water leaks.
• If there are no signs of leakage, you can proceed in installing the UVC bulb (19).
If there has been any damage to the unit, please return to the point of purchase for inspec-
tion. This test should be repeated whenever bulb or quartz tube are changed.
4.2 Installation of the UVC Bulb
After above the wet test procedure, ensure that the electrical supply is turned off and dis-
connected before carrying out any operation.
• Remove the UVC bulb (19) from its separately packed box, taking care not to handle the
bulb but only the bulb base, as skin oils may damage and shorten the life of the bulb.
• Screw the UVC bulb fully into the light fitting into the socket (21) inside the chamber cover
lid (16).
• Insert the bulb into the quartz sleeve (13) and close the chamber cover lid (16).
• Secure the lid with the screw (18) ensuring that the arrow on the UV chamber cover lid
faces the filter outlet.
• If closure of the lid is difficult, it may be necessary to lubricate the O-ring seals with a
little silicone or water.
Warning: The cover must be completely closed before the UVC is turned on. Direct
exposure to UVC light can damage your eyes or skin.
You may now connect your UVC to the electrical supply and turn on.
4.3 Electrical installation - UVC Models
• The power supply must meet the specifications on the product.
• Do not use the supply cable to lift the UVC as this may cause damage.
• For permanent installations to the main power supply, it is necessary to conform to the
regulations of the local electricity authority and this would include the use of a metal or
plastic conduit to protect the cable.
• Attention has been drawn to the fact that special rules concerning the installation of your
pond UVC may exist (i.e. local building regulations).
• This UVC must not be used in swimming pools, or areas where people are in contact
with water.
