stones, pieces of metal and
similar foreign bodies). If the
cutting tool does encounter
a hard object (loud banging

noise), switch the shredder off
at once (disconnect from mains
and remove foreign body).

Additional protective equipment

Motor cut-out
If the motor is overloaded or
blocked, the machine will switch
off automatically after several
seconds. In case of blockage,
switch off the shredder immedi-
ately (red OFF-switch 7) and pull
out the mains plug. It is only
possible to switch back on after
a brief cooling phase.
Safety equipment
The safety device housed in the
switch cover switches off the
shredder automatically when it
is opened, but the unit should
always be turned off at the
ONOFF- switch first. The unit can
only be switched on again if the
upper part of the shredder is
firmly closed. To do this tighten
the star screw 9 byhand.

Composting method

To accelerate breakdown of the
various shredded materials, wet
or damp material should always
be fed into the shredder and

Check housing, discharge
cover and cutting tool for
damage, and if necessary
consult a Service Centre.
Never switch the shredder on
if it is damaged.
Residues of shredded material
left between the upper and lower
part of the shredder may prevent
activation of the safety mecha-
nism. The shredder cannot be
started. The upper and lower
parts must be aligned. There
must not be any shredded materi-
al between the operating spring
and the plunger of the switch.
Always make sure that the stop
nut is clean.
Zero voltage trigger device
In the event of a power failure,
the zero voltage trigger device
built into the switch casing turns
the switch off internally.
This prevents the unit from start-
ing up again.
mixed with dry garden waste.
This provides better ventilation
for the compost and allows the
material to rot more quickly.
